Pre-nup thoughts?

Pre-nup thoughts?

We're in the midst of talking about one. Not sure how I feel - not as badly as I thought I would. I'm walking into inheritance money, and he does really, really well. We're real about this - though I agree it's not 'romantic.' neither is changing poopie diapers (not that i would know, just yet).

The only part of signing a pre-nup that makes me uncomfortable is wondering how our families would react to it. But I suppose if FH and I are on same page about it, then everyone will have to deal with it@!!

There is nothing wrong with getting a pre-nup and it is nobody's business what they think of it. Just make sure that you read it over VERY carefully and get a lawyer to look at it for you. I am not getting one, no need to, however I had a friend who had one and she had some issues with it, her lawyer really looked out for her best interests. She did have some arguments with fh about it but in the end all worked out.
Good Luck!

i dont think you should advertise it with your family. neither one of us comes from money, so we didnt have any need to get one, But i dont think theres anything wrong with it. BUT family is where the problems come in. this is a decsion between the 2 of you, and IMO, i would keep it that way as much as possible

There's nothing at all wrong with a prenup. You're looking out for your best interests and possibly the interests of your family since it's inheritance money. Just make sure you have your own attorney and he has his own attorney -- otherwise, it could later be claimed that there was a conflict and the prenup was invalid. Good luck
