Pre-Wedding Pampering...

So, my mom was at the salon yesterday talking to the girls about what I should do prior to my wedding... and basically they told her everything on the left side of the service pamphlet :P

I was going to do the following:
Nails
Full leg wax (ouch!)
Underarm wax
Facial
And then my mom said they suggested some sort of back exfoliation since i'll be wearing a strapless dress...

Do you all have any suggestions on anything else I should do, or is that more than enough?

TIA!

Re: Pre-Wedding Pampering...

Have you had exfoliation done before? If not than I wouldn't do it right before your wedding. You don't know how your skin will react and you don't want to take that chance.

Re: Pre-Wedding Pampering...

They told me I should do that back thing also. Then I asked a cousin who is a aesthetician and she told me I can do it myself with a much milder exfoliator than they use at the salons.

I used Freeman's apricot scrub (it's for your face). She told me to rub that all over my chest and back and leave it for a minute or so. Then rinse it all off dry the skin and immediately apply a good moisturizer. After that dab a little baby powder and you're ready to go. I have very sensitive skin and this didn't upset it all.

Good, I will try the scrub at home, I use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, I hope that works as well..

Re: Pre-Wedding Pampering...

A little tip when waxing your legs, don't exfoliate your legs before going. I waxed them for the first time last year and exfoliate right before I went. I heard some beauty guy on a talk show say to do this. Well all it left me with is a mild rash that went away and little scars on my knees. Of course about a month later I was reading a magazine that said if your going to wax your legs don't exfoliate right before, IT MAY CAUSE SCARS!
So much for that beauty guy on TV.

Re: Pre-Wedding Pampering...

Get a facial now from the person you will be using (no more than) 5 days before the wedding - i think all facialists should be taken on a test drive - I have horror stories!

Re: Pre-Wedding Pampering...

My bosses got me a gift certificate to Bliss Spa in the City and one of the things items that they picked was a facial - )The triple oxygen treatment™ -- it was GREAT!! I did it before the wedding (I never had one before - my face was fine, it wasn't dry or red)

*ETA:
They now have wedding spa services/packages, here's a link Bliss Spa
