Pregnant?

Hi moms! I need some support and some advice. Right now I feel very alone and have no one to talk to...
I took 3 pregnancy tests (Friday 13th, Sat 14th, and Monday the 16th) all three tests came back positive
We are actively TTC so DH and I were unbelievably happy about this news!!!
I called my doctor on Monday and he said he wanted me to come in the next morning to confirm the pregnancy. I went to his office yesterday, he did a sonogram and said 'I cannot see the pregnancy'.... Since then I have been devastated and cannot stop crying.
He had me make another appointment next week, July 25th to take another look. He didn't really go into too much detail with me, just said 'don't worry, you are pregnant, its just too early to see' I asked him if I should take another pregnancy test and he said 'No'
My emotions are totally out of wack right now..
I thought I would leave his office so happy... Instead I cannot think straight and cannot stop crying.
I have not told my parents that I am pregnant, I was going to tell them this weekend... But now after the doctor visit, I think I should wait.
Right now I have no one to talk to... DH says not to worry about it and that everything is ok.
I want to keep getting pregnancy tests to clear my mind, but $ is tight and I know that I shouldn't be wasting it on buying them.
The first day of my last period was July 12th... I used those pregnancy calendars and they all say I should be in my 5th week.... At the 5th week, you should be able to see the baby on a sonogram..
Is it possible that I could only be in my 4th week? Has this happened to anyone else?
Right now I am just really scared and need some support.

Did the doctor's offce do a pregnancy test? If the doctor says your pregnant then YOU ARE PREGNANT. I never heard of doing a sono this early in a pregnancy, usually they wait until week 10. Relax, deep breaths, sounds to me like you;re going to be a Mommy!

Thanks... When I asked him if I should take another pregnancy test he told me no, that the home pregnancy tests are 99% accurate and since I already took three I didn't need to take another one. He didn't offer for me to take one in the office.
The sonogram was an internal one. He said that my uterus looked light in color, which he said is consistent with being pregnant, that he said he saw an 'object' which is where the egg was released from and where the pregnancy hormones are being produced...
This is all new to me, so I wasn't really sure what to think.... I think that if he had given me another pregnancy test in his office, I would have felt better...

so go get it! If it will make you feel better, call them and tell them you need a pregnancy test TODAY. They use the same tests that we use at home though, they just have less chance of error because they do them CONSTANTLY and of course we have more faith when the medical staff preforms the test. Don't get crazy about this, if you feel a test done at the officewould make you feel better, it is your right to get it done!!!

How did you feel when the doctor told you that he couldnt see anything? Did you feel that something was wrong?

I'm in my 6th week and I just went to the Dr. on Friday to confirm my pregnancy. I asked about a sonogram and my Dr. said they will do it at my next visit in 2 weeks which I'll be 8 weeks pregnant. I'm speaking from experience cause i'm a week ahead of you.. there is NO reason to have one done this early.. wait atleast till your in your 8th week.

My SIL is in her 8th week and had her first sonogram at her 7th week visit (only because of the appointment scheduling).. the only thing you see is a blob with little buds coming out of it (the head, arms, legs).

A 7th or 8th week sonogram tells if you have one heartbeat or two heartbeats.. that's all they are checking for that early into your pregnancy.

If your EPT test say your pregnant you ARE!! the only thing your Dr. should do at this point is just confirm that you are, and to start you on your prenatal vitamins..

Some Dr.'s!! I swear.!!!! Ugh... makes me angry to hear you so upset about this.. dont be!!! You and your DH should enjoy the fact your going to have a beautiful baby in 9 months!!

Don't be worried. It sounds like your doctor doesn't have the best bedside manner!

Just to share my experience, my doctors wouldn't even schedule and appointment for me until I was 8 weeks from my last period. At the 8 week visit they asked a bunch of questions and did an internal sonogram to confirm the pregnancy. The doctor told us one of the reasons that they wait until 8 weeks is because you can usually see (not hear) the heartbeat at that time as well.

It seems like what happened to me is totally normal. I am just wondering WHY my doctor would try to do the sonogram and then say something that he should have known would upset me!
When he said he wanted me to come in to confirm.. I figured it was to do another pregnancy test. The sonogram totally took me off guard.
He knew the first date of my AF so its not like he thought I was further along than 5 weeks.
Anyway you have all made me feel really good right now... I am soooooo excited about all of this. And I am happy to hear this is normal....
D&J did you tell your family yet? I still dont know if I should wait until my next doctor visit OR to tell my parents this weekend, like I had planned.

The morning I found out I got pregnant I called my SIL and my brother at 6am freaking out.. LOL My DH works nights so he wasnt home.. I couldnt wait to tell someone..

We told my DH parents the next day and his mother cried she was so excited.. I just told my parents the other day and they are definitely in a state of SHOCK!! They just found out 2 weeks ago my SIL was pregnant and now I am.. 2 grandchildren that could be born on the same day is a major overload for my mother at the moment.. LOL

..but everyone is very excited and they cant wait!!

Some ppl are superstitious and wait the 3 month rule, but I think it's ok to tell your parents if you like.. it's such amazing news!! I was busting out of my skin, I couldnt wait to tell everyone...

Ok I am going to go ahead as planned. I wanted to tell my family because I am close to all of them... I speak to my mom like 4 times a day and its been killing me!!!!! I may wait to tell friends though, until I am a little further along.
My parents are going to be VERY EXCITED! They have 5 grandchildren already and they love every moment of being a grandparent. I am also their baby so I think it will be a nice surprise for them.
And you are right, if god forbid something does go wrong I am going to need them...
