Pregnant BM question....

I'm going to be a bridesmaid next spring and the bride asked me to get fitted in October. The problem is that my DH and I are thinking about starting to try to have a baby...so there is a possibility I may be pregnant - anywhere from not pregnant to - 7 months!!!

What happens if I get fitted in Oct and end up 7 months pregnant? DO I have to buy a new dress?

ANyone have or know anyone who has had any experience with this?

Thanks!!

I think you should wait to get fitted just in case. This way you will know how far along you will be by the time of her wedding.

good luck

Thanks!!

However she is insisting I order now so they are all from the same dye batch or something.

Re: Pregnant BM question....

I almost had this problem with my MOH
they told her to order it and they can order extra fabric (for a charge of course) and always add to it . Check with the Bridal shop and manufacturer

Good Luck!

I would say order a large size so you can take it in or out

I agree, safest best would be to order a really large size and have it taken in if need be

Re: Pregnant BM question....

The last Bridal party I was in 2 were pregnant at the time of the fitting and one was trying to get pregnant. The two pregnant ones were expected to have their babies 4-6 weeks before the wedding - SO they ordered dresses 2 dress sizes bigger than their usual.

The other girl wound up being pregnant with twins and was 6mth pregnant at the time of the wedding. She had to order extra fabric and they altered the dress to better fit her body.

Def try to see the lastest date that you can order your dress.

I had this issue. One of my BMs got pregnant AFTER the gowns came in. And it had a corset top! She was 6 months preggo at my wedding, and she looked beautiful!

I wouldn't order TOO large of a size - I say 1 size up the most, because you can't really take a gown in more than 3 sizes. That's not to say it isn't possible, but chances are it won't look right. If you do happen to get preggo, just call the store immediately and they can order extra fabric to alter your gown to fit you accordingly. This kind of thing happens all the time so the seamstress should know what to do.
