Ok ladies, so one of my bridesmaids told me last night that she was pregnant!
My wedding is about 16months away, so the baby will be born about 7 months before the wedding.
My question is how long before the wedding do you have to order the BM dress? Will there be enough time for her to order the dress after the baby is born? She's going to need altering anyways, but I'm not sure how to handle it. Should she order it now pretty soon and just get it a little bigger?
Thoughts? Past experience??

it depends where you are ordering the dresses from...but i would say no less than 6 months before... unless its from Davids Bridal because they are usually really fast

some places only need about 3 months ...
regardless, i think you should be fine with 7 months to spare between the her baby and your wedding

i've been told that you should do BM dresses no closer than 5 - 6 months before the wedding.
but my dresses came in in 5 weeks. probably varies based on the designer.

My wedding is in a little less than 3 months, my maid of honor just gave birth 2 weeks ago. We ordered the dresses 3 1/2 months ago and they just came in last week. She ordered 2 sizes up from what she was pre-pregnancy. We figured this would be a good idea, since it's a lot easier to take in a dress than take it out. She is waiting to do alterations about 3 weeks - 1 month before the wedding.

Most places 4-5 months so right after the baby is born they should go.

I'd say order 5-6 months before and get the size she is then. It's much easier to take the dress in if she loses more baby weight then.

I can tell from experience, I was just in a wedding in april and gave birth in January...order the dress a few sizes bigger, it can always be taken in..
