Ok ladies, so one of my bridesmaids told me last night that she was pregnant!
My wedding is about 16months away, so the baby will be born about 7 months before the wedding.
My question is how long before the wedding do you have to order the BM dress? Will there be enough time for her to order the dress and after the baby is born? Do you think it's better for her to order it soo before she gets big and just order a little big? She's going to need altering anyways, but I'm not sure how to handle it.
Thoughts? Past experience??

She will be fine. BM dresses usually takes between 2-4 months to come in. I think you can start looking whenever you like if its not that important for you to see her in the dress. My wedding is in Jan we are placing the order this week and they will be in early Sept.

How exciting for your BM!!
My girls picked out their dresses recently but the store (Fantasia) told us to wait until at least September/October to get sized and order. I'm getting married in May so that's about 7-8 months prior...

I think you only need a couple of months (4-5) for BM dresses. If you don't want to wait that long, have her order her dress a size or two larger than she normally is and she can always get it taken it.

First of all - Congrats to your BM!
Secondly - you have plenty of time to order her dress and get it in time for fittings. BM dresses don't really take that long to come in.

If you are going with a place like davids bridal the dresses only need to be ordered a few months before. I think they need 12 weeks or something like that.

my dresses take 4-6 months.

You definitely have plenty of time for the dresses.
I'm in the same situation. My BM is actually going to have her baby 2morrow But i'm not ordering until November which leaves 6 months before

i say have her order it and it can be taken in. She should order like 2 sizes bigger than she usually is just in case she doesnt lose the baby weight......
im gonna have the opposite problem we're ordering our dresses now and my fsil is NOT pregnant but i know that she wants a honeymoon baby and will probably get pregnant this oct making her 7 months pregnant for my wedding

Paradise Bridal told me to order the bridesmaid dresses about 6 months before the wedding.
