this is what i say to do - is plan a seating assignment for them - but don't pay for them
so make a seating card - at their table have two less people that you don't have to pay for them and that Villa's doesn't set up - so that Villas doesn't know that they are coming
If they do come then just pay for them that day - and have the maitr D put the place settings at that table

Re: Pregnant, giving birth RSVP question
I kinda in that predicament also, one of my very best friends is getting married 3/12, I'm due to give birth on 3/7. I told her that as long as I am not in labor or coming home from the hospital that day I will def be there, but I'll feel so bad if they have to pay for DH & I......maybe I'll just put a few extra $$$ in the envelope

I entirely agree with Snow Princess; give the place a heads up and they are usually cool about it.

Re: Pregnant, giving birth RSVP question
I agree with Snow Princess. I'm no expert but several of my friends have had c-sections and none of them were up to attending anything a few days later. Is this her first child? Is she palnning on breast feeding? If the answer is yes to both she has no idea how tired she will be. I't abdominal surgery

Re: Pregnant, giving birth RSVP question
When you give your final head count, always go under by 5 or so. That way if they show up you can add two seats and pay for them but if you give the 'real' headcount and have them in that head count and they don't show up then you lose out by paying for them...
I think that she doesn't realize how draining it is to come home after having c-section (surgery) and a baby. If she is able to make it to the wedding that would be great!! But she shouldn't push herself.

Re: Pregnant, giving birth RSVP question
My sister recently had a C-section and was home three days later and was fine. I guess it depends on the person

Re: Pregnant, giving birth RSVP question
i would just make a seating arrangement for them and if they do show up then pay for the seats. i know some places do make the exceptions to add at the last minute.
