Pregnant MOH

Pregnant MOH

Hi Ladies,

Just found out last night that my MOH is 3 months pregnant! She will be almost 7 by the time our wedding happens. I am SO excited for her, but she told me that she is not sure how her dress will fit now. She lives in Chicago so alterations and everything is going to be done out there. I told her to try it on at the end of May/beginning of June just to see if it fits or just needs to be let out a little. But if it doesn't fit at all, is that enough time to order a new dress? Is anyone else going through this situation, just not sure what to tell her to do?

Thanks!

one or two months to re-order a dress is prob not enough time. If the current dress doesn't fit (and can't be let out), i'd opt for buying an off-the-rack dress from Macy's or whatnot. She's your MOH so it's ok if her dress is different anyhow

my sister/MOH will be 8.5 months pregnant and ordered a dress 5 sizes up from what she is, its better to order big and have it taken in... i would call the bridal shop and see if you can change the order to a bigger size now and then adjust it when it comes in

I doubt it'll fit for 7 mos. preggers, that's pretty big, can she just look around in like Macys or Bloomies around that time for a dress of similar color but something that fits her and makes her feel comfy? She's the MOH anyway so she can totally stand out and it be ok.

I would definitely of done that, but the dress was ordered in November and came in already before she found out she was pregnant. It's sitting in her closet right now, lol. Not sure if maybe she should order the same dress in another size now. Is that an option? But then she has to pay for 2 dresses, right?

This is correct. The dress she purchased won't be able to be taken out enough around her stomach. If she already bought the dress she should exchange it for a much larger size. She may not be showing now but she will probably pop around 6-7 months and you want her to be as comfortable as possible on your day.

Just a tip...to save a decent amount of cash...take the dress to the cleaners for alterations about 3 weeks before the wedding.
