Just wondering which brands everyone is taking, and if they turn your urine neon yellow...?

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
Tammy- I actually know a few people who lost weight right after going off the pill. A few months later they went back to normal though- I guess once they got their cycle back to normal. I went off the pill in December (we'll be TTC in May) and have remained the same weight- and my cycle got right back to normal- it really had no effect. The only thing is I am getting the cramps back!

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
Like Anna, my dr. gave me a bag of samples and told me to let her know which ones I liked the best. None of them really bothered me, but I wasn't digging the ones that had citrus in them. So when they gave me a prescription of Prima Care (like Nina), but I hate the fact that I have to take them TWICE a day!! I'm lucky I remember them in the morning, let alone at night! I have a post-it on my cabinet to remind me!!!
And I was also a bit peeved that the darn things aren't covered under Oxford, which means it's going to cost $36 each month!!!!!!
When I go back on the 31st, I'm going to switch to another brand.
And to answer your question, finally, Jen, I noticed that sometimes the color of my urine is a bit 'bright'!!! It's much brighter then when I wasn't pg and it's even brighter if I haven't gone in awhile!!!
(Ron's going to love reading this thread, huh?!! )

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I take my vitamin in the morning, on an empty stomach. If I don't eat anything within a 1/2 hour or so, then I get nauseous! I have almost 100 pills left so I'm sticking w/ Prenate!!

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I am taking StuartNatal-- but they are not covered so i am spending $16 a month--does anyone know if I can take back the prescription from teh pharmacy and fill them online at drugstore.com--since they are only $30 for 3 months-- I would love to save the extra money--especially since the pill was cheaper!!!! Edited to add: Dr wanted me on prenatals for 3 months before we started trying--so Feb 15th was that day(not trying yet though) although this is my first month off the pill and I HATE it-- I had the worst cramps this morning-- I dont think they were ever this bad-

Melissa My dr had given me a sample of Staurt Natal Duets-- I filled my prescription and she had written it for Stuart Natal PLus 3-- on drugstore.com it seems you can buy StuartNatal but not Stuart natal plus 3-- Either way I am going to switch because it is much cheaper to get them online Thanks for the info

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I got my first dosage of prenatal vitamins today. Why are these things so big I will have to break it in two, I have a pill phobia This one is called PreCare Conceive *shrugs* It was $54 big ones, I told my husband he is paying for the next set, he said ok I hear that it makes your nail and your hair grow is this true, b/c if we do not conceive I would really like to get some benefits out of spending $54

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I was all pi$$ed off when I got my first prescription filled (for Prima Care) and it cost $35.99 for 30 day supply and it wasn't covered, so I called Oxford and they told me that almost all of them aren't covered. So I asked them to give me a list of the ones that are, and they told me 'we don't have one. ask your dr for a list, call back and we'll see if we have any of them' -- WHAT??? I changed my vitamin to the Duet ones, and they weren't covered either, although for 100 pills, I only paid $59.49, which comes out cheaper then the other ones.

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I take the GNC prenatals and they have no iron. I just make sure I eat enough iron-rich foods. My midwife said in a month when she checks my iron levels she will decide if I have to add the iron pills or not. I take 1 in the morning, 1 at night and have no problems so far.

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
Debbie- I had similiar problems w/insurance. (see earlier in thread) It would have cost me more in the long run to fill my prescriptions for Prenate every month and go through GHI. It cost me about $25 (?) less to buy a three month supply without insurance. Isn't having coverage supposed to save you money?

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
Kate, that's what I thought!!! And on top of that, I had to pay a co-pay when I went for my amnio and I'll have to pay a co-pay again, when I go for my Level 2 sonogram in 2 weeks!!! I thought all of this was covered under the prenatal care!!!
