Prenuptial Agreement?

Prenuptial Agreement?

I'll be the one to be so bold to ask about this.
Go ahead and dish it- do you have one? Did you want one?
How do you feel about it? Protect your assets and your ***?
Yes it infers the marriage could end- yes it's taboo... but it's real.

it's the least sexy & romantic thing to do when you're about to get married but i think it's extremely important.

we don't have one yet, but we will before the wedding!

It was not even an issue for us, just because we both have diddly squat

It can also protect you in the event of a tragedy from your FH's debt, school loans, credit card bills.... things of that nature- it's not only to protect your money... so I hear?

I have a house but it's in my name only. I pay the mortgage out of my account and only my name is on the deed.

If we move, we'll sell and buy another house together. I may make him sign something about that when we do. yes, I know it;s not romantic but trust me, Ive been divorced. It cost me 12k and I learned better to be safe than sorry.

I think it's a great idea. I have been divorced and it cost me 7 years and $30,000+. We are definitely getting one.

Re: Prenuptial Agreement?

Super cool question.

My husbands family has money. Not a great deal but they do ok

My husband also has a business. In real life he (and his partners) are still building it, but on paper its worth a good sum.

He didnt ask me to sign one, and never brought it up. I was happy he didn't, but like would not have blamed if he did.

Im really glad he didn't. But I would have so signed it. I dont want anything except to share our lives.

I don't ever see us ending. We have a good relationship. If we ever did, even if he cheated, or did bad things I would take the high road and walk away. (within reason of years, kids etc) I would even give him the rings back. They are both family heirlooms.

I dont think we'd do one. I have nothing to lose but debt.

Same here. We both have no individual assets except for what we own jointly.

haha, i have nothing for him, but if it would protect him from paying my debt as a just in case, id be willing to do it.

Surely id do it! He's told me, 'u want one? We can sign it! U can take my mortgage debt!' Hahaha. We bought the house when I was still young and in school, so its in his name only.

We don't have one because we are both broke as a joke! haha

I wouldn't be opposed to signing one if he was rich before we met but if he came into money while we were already dating and then asked me to sign one I think I would be a little insulted. JMO

it's not for us. We don't have any money hahaha
plus we really dont believe in divorce. This is for life.

For some people, I could understand the need,...for us, no need.

I have nothing but FH has 2 house and quite a few investments. I wanted to sign a prenup- but he didnt want it. He was actually insulted that I brought it up.

I own an apartment and My mother is all over me about doing this. I have discussed it with him and he understands. You don't want to ever think about things ending but you gotta do whatcha gotta do

Re: Prenuptial Agreement?

Divorce is not an option for us, and we don't have any monies... soo no

I understand why it's there and why some couples do sign one together... it's just not for us :)

that's hysterical but i'm in the same boat.. however if FH asked me to sign one I would definately NOT marry him, I think its so incredibly insulting and basically dooming your marriage before it starts.. so i guess its a good thing we have diddly squat haha

Unless the rights to the Xbox are in the prenup, we're good. I got jack.
