Prepping for Dad's surgery...lil' long
Hi girls. I just wanted to say it's been a tough weekend for me, and the family. My dad has surgery for prostate cancer on Halloween, this Thursday and he's really depressed. My mom is really depressed, but trying to be strong for him too. It's mentally exhausting me and them. I know I won't be paying nearly as much attention to the boards this week, so with that in mind: anyone who is getting married this coming weekend: good luck to you all. Anyone who is returning from just being married, congrats to you all! I hope to pop in if I can to see how everyone is doing. I just did some quick browsing from the weekend, and I've already missed so much. I can't even think about my wedding, things are way way way too stressful and complicated. My grandfather is still in the hospital from the stroke and I don't even want to think about anything else, other than having him home and my Dad home healthy. I have less than a month to go before my wedding, and I honestly am not excited about it. The wedding is supposed to be at my Grandfather's house, if he's not there for it, I just don't know what I'll do.
I look forward to chatting with you all again. Next time I hope to be in a better mood, sorry if I depressed everyone.
Leslie

Leslie,No way did you depress us at all. We are here for you.
Just want to say, I pray for your Dad and your Grandfather for both to be healthy and well.
My father had Prostrate cancer surgery about 10 years ago, and he is still kicking
I'm sure your Dad will be fine. I pray everything goes well with the surgery on Thursday. Let us know how it goes.
And, of course, you can't really be excited about the wedding when so much is going on. Soon it will all be better I'm sure, and you'll get back into the swing of things.
We'll keep the boards warm for you. You relax and take care of your Dad and Grandfather the best you could. God Bless you all

Re: Prepping for Dad's surgery...lil' long
I know what it's like to have a sick father - my dad's kidneys failed a few years ago, and then he went on dialysis. As he was going on transplant lists, he had to go through lots of physical exams, and they found that he had kidney cancer (not the cause of the kidney failure). So, he had surgery to remove the kidney. Then, after the surgery, he suffered a mild stroke. Then, last year, he had to have open-heart surgery to have a bipass as well as a valve replacement. And, now, he has recovered from that and is back on the kidney transplant lists. So, I know how it is, and it does become the most important thing! It just reminds you of how much your family, and fiance, is to you! Good luck, sweetie, and I am praying for your dad and grandfather, and for you!!Welcome New Vendors
