Price for Pre-Cana

How much have you paid or paying for Pre-Cana?

Re: Price for Pre-Cana

i paid $50.00 through my parish.

and it GOES TO THE CHURCH!!! they need money from their parishoners to keep the parish and its programs running.

I am probably in the minority here, but i get so angry when isee these posts... people will pay upwards of $100.00 per person at their hall, but complain when they're asked to contribute to the church???? i think that's so wrong...

yes, we're all budget conscious, but this is THE msot important part of the wedding planning and the day, it's not a big deal.

it varies due to the size of the parish and the number of couples doing pre-cana. usually, the bigger the parish, the higher it might be... more materials, more staff.

also people that do the weekend overnights pay over $100.00 sometimes close to $300.00 because they have to pay for the lodging and food for the weekend and materials.

We are doing ours through the church so there is no charge. We have to pay them for the wedding, singer and organist though. So they are still getting plenty of money from us

$195 for pre-cana and we have part one tomorrow from 930 to 430. oh that is going to be a long day.

If we did the weekend engagement encounter it would have been $320.

We are also having my priest come from the city out to LI to marry us so I have to give something to both churches. cha ching...........

that's bizarre, I didn't realize this was something you can shop around for and get the best price? Maybe because we did interfaith we had no choice, it was $175 for us

Re: Price for Pre-Cana

maybe shop around isn't the best wording...we are getting married in the greek church so we did the pre cana there but because we are raising our children catholic we also had to complete the catholic pre cana so i called a few churches and explained the situation and i found a class being offered for that price.

no it wasn't only your post, I realized it from the price ranges in the other girls post. I didn't realize that pre-cana was something with a varying price, i would think it would be one set price but I'm jewish what the heck do I know about that? lol

haha yeah i know that is why when we were told it was 300 i came on here and saw that girls were paying a lot less so that is when i started calling around. You would think it would be one price but it's not!

We did that weekend retreat 'Engaged Encounter' in Pittsburgh since that's where me and FH were going to school at the time, and it cost us about $250. It is true... you do have to keep in mind that to give you lodging and food for a weekend that isn't a bad price. And it was a really nice weekend!

you can claim it on your taxes as a church donation.....

Re: Price for Pre-Cana

our church's price was $100, or $75 not sure.

However, our check was never cashed so technically we paid nothing for pre-cana.

this is also 2 years later so I've stopped calling.

Re: Price for Pre-Cana

In July we are doing a weekend engagement encounter (long distance relationship reasons) and I believe that is 350 in addition to FOCCUS which is another 50... so 400.
