I am getting married in March 2010. I just booked my church (super exciting), but i was wondering if the price they are charging for the ceremony is normal.
It was 750.00 which includes the Pre-cana (meetings), the church, the singers, and the ladies that help with the rehersal?
My sister got married five years ago in a different church, and my mother said she paid a lot less?

Re: Price of Catholic Church ceremony
that sounds about right... churches vary but they tend to be in the 5-8 range.. maybe a little less if you belong to that church

Re: Price of Catholic Church ceremony
That is in range with most churches. We paid right around that for everything too.
Every parish is different.

My church is $750 without the precana and FOCUUS...I think that's an additional $100

Re: Price of Catholic Church ceremony
Ladies who got quotes... when did they give them to you? I booked the church but they mentioned absolutely nothing to me about money or anything of the sort. FH father is a deacon and will be conducting the ceremony, also it's at my childhood parish... where my grandmother is an active member and seriously donates insane amounts of money to them on a consistant basis. (for example they had a leak in their roof and so she dontated 6 to 7 thousand dollars for it). I don't know if this could be the reason. Or perhaps they are waiting until closer to the date??? We did ask who was going to do the paperwork... they said either FH father if he wants or the church will... but we are having FH father do it.

the suggested donation and music fees are usually in the little book and paperwork they give to you when you meet the priest and select your date. The church secretary called us to remind us it was due also.

Re: Price of Catholic Church ceremony
The fees were listed on the piece of paper the priest gave us when we booked our date. It was the paper that had the items the church requires: i.e., baptism certificates, marriage banns, the number to call to arrange the rehearsal, the marriage license, etc. Ours says that the fee is due at the rehearsal but I think that varies from parish to parish.

I think our church is around 500 for everything, not including pre-cana. But it could be less...we booked it so long ago I don't remember!
