price of HM

Ok I was wondering --- is anyone basing their HM budget on their monthly salary???
(you know how they say oh the engagment ring should be x amount) I know it all depends on what you can afford - im just wondering....

like lets say our 2 month salary combined. or I dont know....
Just wondering if there was a rule of thumb

i dont know, ive never heard of it being a months salary or any rule of thumb for how much it SHOULD be. I don't think it HAS to be any specific amount. Just what you can afford. Look at places you are interested in and see if its within your budget.

i wanted hawaii but we just couldnt afford it and we only have about 8 days and didnt want to waste the time traveling...we are doing sandals...its pretty reasonable and everything is there for you and all inclusive

we just booked sandlas cause they were doing the 50% off...we didt base it on anything other than the fact that it was 50% off lol

HM stresses me out bigtime, it's soooooo expensive but then again I am wondering why we are spending SO much on wedding when I should be dropping the moola on the HM instead. The wedding is one night but the HM is two weeks!? I am so confused as to where to spend the $$$. Anyway, I don't think there are any specific rules, just spend whatever makes you comfortable.

i dont think it has to be specific amount, i think you should do what you can afford, you dont want one trip to put you in debt...i also depends on where youre going, some places cost a lot more then others.

I never heard of this, I think you just pay you can afford and what you want to pay for the HM.

i don't think there's a rule/guideline about cost of hm and salary......depends more on budget and what you can afford. oddly enough, ours comes out to just about 2 months combined salary.

Never heard of this.....ours comes to about 1 month of just FH's salary (not including mine, which is about half of FH's salary.....so it's 2/3 of our combined monthly salary)....but really can't afford to spend any more than that right now!
