Price ranges for Reception halls
Hi: Can anyone tell me the price ranges (including tax and tip) for the following reception sites: 1.Swan Club 2. Sans Souci 3. Floral Terrace 4. Sand Castle 5.Woodbury Country Club 6.Watermill Me and my FI recently got engaged and we just started to look at reception sites this weekend. We want to go to places we can afford and not waste our time with places out of our budget! Thanks everybody! P.S. I have both the Locations magazine and the LI Weddings magazine..when i went to the reception halls this weekend, i was given prices that were very different from the ones in the magazines!

Sand Castle
I got married there in October on a Saturday night and paid $85pp plus tax & gratuity, plus $3pp for vienna trays. But the week before the wedding, we changed the trays to a full viennese hour and ended up paying an extra $3 more pp, so we ended up paying $91pp plus tax & gratuity. Word of advise, sometimes even though a hall charges X amount, don't rule it out necessarily because sometimes when you go to talk to them, they'll give you a deal. When I went to the Sand Castle the first time (it was the first place we looked at), they originally told me $130 or something ridiculous like that and my then-fiance was like 'they're out', but then 3 nights later the guy called me back and said he could give it to us for $85!!! You have to negotiate as best you can with these catering halls, don't settle for the first price they mention -- you have to play 'good cop/bad cop' and let whoever is the better 'barterer' (if that's a word) out of the two of you do all the talking!! Good luck.

Woodbury Country Club
The only one off your list that we checked out was the Woodbury Country Club. The price for a Sat. night in summer was over $100 a person (before tax and gratuity). A Sunday night was around $90 I think.

Floral Terrace
I am getting married at the Floral Terrace on a friday night in December. I know you have to guarantee 150 guests for friday nights and 200 guests for saturday nights. Also, there is 1 wedding at a time there. You can e-mail me at [email protected] for more info on prices, etc..

Swan Club and Watermill
I wound up booking Fox Hollow, but I had shopped around alot before booking. I was given a price quote of $80 plus tax and gratuity for the Swan Club on a Saturday in April of 2003.... and he threw in the seafood boat. Watermill I was quoted with tax and gratuity $112 for a Saturday in April. Any other questions, feel free to ask. Good luck!

Watermill in June
for us is $55 pp (70 w/ tax and tip) for a saturday afternoon. We booked this past January for this June so it's a little less than if we had booked it more in advance. It's also the smaller rooms (up to 80 people). In January it's $45 pp.

The Meadow Club in Port Jeff
We are getting married on a Sunday in August and it's $85pp for the top menu. Their Saturday price was not much higher, but they were all booked up. Everyone I know who has been there has had only good things to say about the place. I suggest giving them a call. www.themeadowclub.com

Sand Castle
the sand castle gave me 70 pp for a friday night (we're looking for this coming oct., so that may be why less, bc they are looking to book up) but when the semi-seafood bar and viennese plates etc. were added, it came to $91. She told me it would be 20$ more pp for a sat. night, but I see someone else on here got 91$ for a Sat. night, so who knows!

Faye - chmlengr RE: Sans Souci
Tipping is included in the service charge and is 18%. Tax is only on the food portion, not the service charge and that is 18%. We expect it to come out just under $114 pp.

I also booked the North Ritz Club in September. I looked at so many halls and was not impressed with them. I felt the North Ritz Club was really affordable for a one bride at a time wedding. They also gave us some extras. You should check it out!

Tarakinspa: The Watermill
I think it all depends on: how far in advance you book, the size of your party (more guests=more staff/more space), the month, time of day. Mine is 55pp (70 w/ tax/tip), but we got the smallest rooms, ours dinner room only holds up to 80 people. And, I also did not have the option of having the ceremony outside, this is for the larger party. One other thing is that I saw both bridal suites and the bride who pays more money gets the nicer one (hers will have a bathroom in it, mine won't:( ) Anyway, you get what you pay for!Welcome New Vendors
