What would be considered the average price for a bridesmaids dress? I told one of my bridesmaids about $150, and she said that was too much to spend on a dress u only wear once.. I actually thought 150 was pretty cheap.. Was I wrong??

The one I picked is about the same and I thought that was cheap compared to some stories Ive heard!

I think $150 is pretty good my BM dresses will be $178 + alterations and I thought that was pretty good ~ I have been in BP's where they were alot $265 + alterations...(and alterations cost just as much as the dresss since I lost a lot of weight @ the time)

Thank you ladies.. Me and my FH had a huge fight about this today because its his sister that is saying that its too much to spend on a dress she will wear once.. So ofcourse I got mad... I guess if she doesnt want to get the dress, I will just replace her.. But I dont want friction between us either.. I dont know
If that is too much for her...maybe consider getting her a gift certificate with the bridal store you are getting your dresses as part of her BM gift

You're not wrong at all! $150 is cheap. I think mine BM's dresses are $155. And she shouldn't being talking back to you like that. You have no control over the prices. I usually pay around $200 when I'm a BM. good luck!

$150 is totally an average. I had a wedding in April and the BM dress costwith tax about 190.00 Mine will probably (hopefuly) be around $150.00

Thats sounds average to me-but don't forget $150 is a LOT to some people-even $25 is a lot to some people.

My bridesmaid's dresses were like $285 with alterations and tax $150 is definitely not expensive. Ive never been in a wedding that was less than 180.

$150 is about the average price. My BM's dresses will be about $185. They will be wearing Jim Hjelm.

I don't know where all of you are shopping.. but I didn't see many dresses less than $220 minus the Jordan dresses. Majority of dresses from the usual companies were $220 - $280...some even more. I really tried to find dresses under $200 but it was IMPOSSIBLE!! I went to a lot of stores too... so oh well... After I saw the prices of them... i don't feel that bad since that is just what they cost...& i'm paying the same to be in another wedding.
Even the junior dresses were a lot... like $180 - $200... i feel bad about them but its hard to match juniors.. & not every company carries them...
thankfully we'll be ordering during a trunk show and at the place i ordered my gown so we'll be getting some sort of discount!

Thats about right. Gownfind.com is the only place I have seen with cheaper dresses. Nice selection too.

Thats definatly an average price... i WISH i could find something for that little!!!! Everything I've looked at is 240+ andn i just feel so guilty asking the BMs to spend that even though they all say its ok... But yea 150 is definatly a good price!!!!

I haven't offiicially been checking prices yet for my BM dresses but I totally agree that $150 is cheap. I have heard stories about dresses that are MUCh more than that! It is your day and you should pick what you want ( i know it is hard when people are giving you a hard time)...good luck!!
