Pricing for make-up hair trials

Pricing for make-up hair trials

I don't know if this was already posted...

I was wondering what the going rate to have just make-up and/or hair for the day of wedding.

I was qouted about 450 for hair AND make-up from the girl who did my trial yesterday and I just want to know if that's a ridiculous amount.

I'm not going to be having hair done, so it would just be for make-up.

Anyone?

OMG!! What have I done!!

Well, I haven't booked anyone yet so I'm not committed to anything, thank god.

Everyone suggested the airbrushing and I'm wondering if that's what makes it so expensive.

Can anyone recommend anyone that's cheaper?

I am paying 250 for airbrush makeup and 350 for hair. It sounds like a lot but the trials are free and for the girls its 75 for hair and 75 for makeup which I think is pretty much the going rate.

I tried her, but she's busy on my wedding day

I just emailed Denise from Angel Eyes and she's MUCH cheaper and comes recommended on LIW.

Hope that may work out.

Thanks for the advice ladies!!

I live out east, Sag Harbor.

My cousin's going to be doing my hair, so that won't be much. It's just the make-up.

oksana did my makeup for johnny&maur's wedding (and i'm using her as well so i used that as my trial) and the makeup stayed on the WHOLE night. i didn't need airbrushing. it looked so natural as it was

Re: Pricing for make-up hair trials

I just paid $125 on Fri night to have someone come to my apt and do a hair and makeup trial -which I HATED. Then, on Saturday I went to Bloomies in Manhattan and was supposed to have a trial there, but the lady was rude and I ended up just walking up to a random guy at the Stila counter and he recreated JUST what I wanted! It was the best makeup trial out of all the 'planned' ones I had...

I highly recommend just going to a makeup counter that you love and having them do a trial for free - I bought a few products because he spent so much time with me, but I really believe that some of these makeup artists at dept stores are very talented and it's so much better than having to pay to find out what you want.

That's ridiculous for just make.

Try Oksana, Jacqueline Nicole, Mya from Cosmetic Artistry, or Jill Harth, Denise from Angel Eyes, and there are a whole bunch more. Makeup shouldn't cost you more than $75-$100.
