priest

How did it go?

I'm going Monday.

We had a ball with the priest when we went. I was so scared, and I was making up all these questions in my head that he could possibly ask us and how we should answer them, but in the end, it was so laid back and fun. We spent over 2 1/2 hours there. Talked about how we met, what schools we went to, our families, stuff like that. But then the priest starting talking about sex and I got embarassed. But it was fun. When I left I told the priest i wanted to take him home with me b/c he was so much fun !

We were nervous too. Don't worry, it is a harmless meeting. We actually hit it off really well w/ the Msgr. very well. He also wanted to get to know a little bit about us, how we met and things like that. He personalized the our wedding and added in how we met and certain things about us. It was really beautiful. I am so glad he did that!

well we met the msgr. but he told us he couldn't do our wedding because he will be out of town. So he said another priest will preform the ceremony.

He was nice.. asked some questions... explained Pre Cana.... and now, we have to pick what kind of pre cana to go to?

Also, I guess the priest that will marry us will call us back to talk to us? Do you guys think that will happen after pre cana?

But he was nice... and boy was I nervous!

I'm going this weekend and I am scared because my DH and I don't belong to the parish and I am worried they will say they won't marry us. Did they ask you any questions you weren't expecting?

We just met with our priest last week and I was SO nervous b/c we are not getting married in either of our parishes but rather in the parish where my parents got married (which is about 90 seconds from my parents house). When I initially reserved the date with the priest he gave me a VERY hard time b/c we were not parishioners...In The end he booked us anyway.

When we met with him, he asked us a bunch of questions about our families, how we met, work etc. Then he separated us and asked me a ton of questions about drinking, gambling, having kids, how often we went to church. Then asked my FH the same questions w/o me in the room. We did good on our answers :) but I was nervous.

In the end, it was def more of a getting to know you kind of thing but we have to do pre cana and meet with him 3 more times!

Yikes I didn't expect all that!!!!

Did he tell you on the spot whether or not he would marry you guys? I heard a rumor that we will have to get a 'letter of agreement' from my actual parish where I received my sacraments to let us get married elsewhere. My problem is I don't think my parish will give me it. So nervous...

We were nervous too... But it had to be done... We met with both of them PRIEST & CANTOR we are an inter faith couple... Anyway we went to the PRIEST'S house. OMG we had such a great time we laughed had coffee & cake he asked us how long we have been going out how we met and what we wanted our ceremony to be like.
We were there for almost 2hours and at the end we felt like we knew them for ever. Since I am Jewish I was REALLY nervous to meet with the PRIEST and you know what he was even nicer than the Cantor. Don't worry just be yourselves. Are you going to meet him at the church? If you are just don't wear anything LOW CUT........

yup meeting him at the church! Nothing low cut and I've heard I'm not supposed to mention living with FH! But how can I to a priest?!?!?! Did this come up with anyone?
