printing addresses on invites..Repost from 09 boards

girls who are getting there invites printed for addresses where are you getting yours done and about how long does it take?

I am trying to do it myself but what is centered on my computer is not centered on the invite when I print it. I am getting so fustrated and need a back up plan !

I'm guessing you mean the address is not centered on the invitation envelope? I did mine myself, I had my guest list in excel, than did the mail merge in word. I measured my envelopes and put the size in the custom size option. I had to play around with it a bit. What I did was cut plain paper the same size of my envelopes to test print, so I didn't waste the envelopes. HTH!

That's exactly what I did. There were a few envelopes that printed slanted, but I ended up wasting only 5 envelopes overall (and our printer gave us 15 extra just in case).

Basically, cut a plain piece of paper the same size as your envelope and draw a small suqare on the top right for the stamp. Then keep playing around the margins and print setup until it works!

My sister got them done from Minute Man Press....she got married 3 years ago and I remember her telling me it wasn't that expensive. She actually had them do it with Caligraphy Font and they came out perfect and extremeley professional looking....

I am guessing any printing shop can do them and it can be a little less of a hassle then doing them on the comp. She initially started on the comp and got so frustrated because of the wasted envelopes!

Thanks girls ! This is what I think I am going to try. I wasted a few of the invite envelopes trying to get it centered and was getting really frustrated. Thats a really smart idea to cut a piece of paper !

Actually, she went to the Minute Man in Plainview right by our house....

I know she did the actual addresses and the RSVP ones that came back to our home printed from Minute Man. I can ask her tonight to get a rough price range if you want!

That is most likely where I am going to get mine done...they looked professionally done and they came out beautiful! Obviously, if I could afford calligraphy, I would but that's not an option so this is the second best (especially since I would probably wind up breaking my printer in the meantime) !! =)

Ok so I asked my sister...she couldn't give me a price for JUST printing the addresses on the invites and the return ones with the RSVP cards because she got an entire package. She actually got her invitations, menu cards, programs, etc from Minute Man Press so they didn't break down the price for her. She said it was VERY affordable to do all of them and that you should call for a price to print your invite addresses....

Sorry I couldn't give you an exact $$$....=/

I plan on ordering my invites and having the addresses and return cards printed from there also...In my opinion, since my patience has run out, it will be easier for me to get them printed from there rather than trying to do them at home. I can tell it will lead to aggravation, a broken printer and wasted envelopes...

=)
