Re: Priscilla of Boston dress fitting (added front photo for those who asked)

Can you tell me what style # your dress is? Was it on the more expensive end or was it reasonable?

They are only I believed sold in Priscilla of Boston stores -

Honestly I don't remember the style number but it is on their website (Priscilla of Boston They have dresses in ranges I believe from 1800-5K

It was one of their more expensive dresses (but it cost 300$ to make it strapless so that pushed it up more - but I bought it at a trunk sale so that basically covered the tax -

I only needed to do the bustle and needed no alterations so that kept that expense down. My veil hadn't come in yet - so I don't have a photo of that.

I think the dress on the right you are talking about IS the same dress - just with a scoop neck and not made strapless (mine was custom made strapless they don't have one to try on)

It is beautiful! I tried that dress on, and they told me they could make it strapless, so it's cool to see how it came out. It looks great!

Re: Priscilla of Boston dress fitting (added front photo for those who asked)

this is my dress, too!!

i opted for the strapless as well. i actually got a chance to see your dress in the store because i happened to be there when they delivered it. i'm a big fan of how they converted it. is there a corset sewn into it? they mentioned something to that effect when i ordered it.

did you get the matching veil? i did, and i plan on having the veil bustled as well as the dress. curious how that works ...

also, if you don't mind my asking, how much did they charge you for the bustle? i just want to prepare myself seeing as i spent twice as much on this dress as i had intended on spending for a gown!! i'm hoping the alterations aren't as pricey ...

Re: Priscilla of Boston dress fitting (added front photo for those who asked)

this is my dress, too -- unfortunately, it was a tad pricey. factoring in the veil and strapless conversion, the total was in excess of 5k. waaaaaaay more than i wanted to spend, but i had such a hard time finding something that i truly loved, that my mom and i somehow rationalized the cost.

i will be honest, though -- of all the stores i went to and all the dresses i tried on, the priscilla gowns were simply decadent comparatively. the fabrics, styles -- top notch and classic. i loved soooo many of their dresses. but, more than likely, you are looking at a minimal 3k investment on a gown if you choose them...

Re: Priscilla of Boston dress fitting (added front photo for those who asked)

I actually didn't want the veil that came with the dress (but it was pretty)- I just wanted a plain cathedral veil - I will be taking off the cathedral and keeping on a fingertip one that I am also getting - I was considering the bustling thing and my friend did that with hers and wasn't comfortable so I opted for the shorter veil for the reception.

I didn't need any alterations - I was prepared for a HUGE bill (I almost bought a dress at saks and they wanted almost $400) I only needed the bustle - but I am losing weight so if I lose anymore I might need to take it in I have lost 8-10 lbs since I had my fitting - but the bustle cost $100. Which I thought was cheap - they do it with color ribbons -
