probably a silly question... related to buying gifts from a registry

This question is probably silly... but, FH and I are attending the wedding of his close friend in December, and we'd like to buy a gift off their registry.

1) Do we send the gift to their house?
2) How far in advance should we order the gift (the wedding is 12/2)?

TIA!

I don't think it's too soon.

If you're purchasing something from their online registry, you'll get a message stating that the gift will be sent to the address that the couple has pre-selected (probably their home). You'll see it towards the end of your checkout. It'll give you the option of entering a different address if you'd like to send it somewhere other than the suggested destination.

i think it is definitely easier to have it sent to their house! When people brought presents to the RH it was a bit of a schlep to get them all in the limo and back to the hotel then back to our house...

as for timing, we got gifts anywhere from a month before to a few days/weeks after...

Send to their house if you know that it's a safe area / or there's someone home that would be able to sign for the package, the last think you want is your package sitting infront of someone's house unattended for a whole day.

and i think 1 month ahead or after you get the invite is a good time frame to buy the gift.

yes, i would send it to the house and i would do it about a week before, although it isnt too early now

the wedding is less than a month away

good luck!

Yes, ship it!!!! I'm from upstate, where gifts are the norm to give. (Money is not normal) It's in bad taste to bring the gift to the wedding and expect the bride and groom to figure out how to get it home.
