problem

I love my FH but he has a spending problem. Everytime he gets paid he has to buy video games, clothes, or shoes and im getting sick and tired of it because he doesnt need it...

so i tried to make him out a budget and he just put the paper in the drawer

everytime i tell him about his spending he gets very angry and tells me that its his money, im not his mother, or dont tell him what to do

so i suggested that we open us up a savings account together for wedding expenses and he didnt want to that....he told us to save individually

I dont know what to do....I dont know if i should just give him a ultamatium...either you get your finciancal problem togther or we dont get married

Re: problem

funny u bring this up cuz i deal with the same with with fh! he wants to buy a car that he doesnt need and it makes me

as much as i tell him no no no... he has the same line... its my money, we're not married yet illl buy what i want to buy....

its very frustratin but i think we both need to suck it up somehow and realize that we cant control their spending... its very unfortunate but they do have a point that i still cannot accept till this day! so you're not alone!!

that is the same way my fh was and i told him that if you dont manager you money we are going to be able to have a wedding and we need to save money. So then the next day he openned a savings account and so far so good. I hope everything works out for the better

I hate financial crap! It's always an issue for me. FH loves to spend spend spend and I save all my money. We opened up a joint account so that we would know that we EQUALLY contributed to our wedding. Your in a tough situation becasue they are right we don't have any control over how they spend there money. I don't think an ultimatum will help anything.

Re: problem

Money is the number one thing that people fight about.... maybe if you tell him why it bothers you and that you are not trying to 'mother' him or tell him what to do but you just want to make sure that you are starting off your lives together on the right step....maybe he will understand. I think the joint savings is a good idea, hopefully he will realize why this is so important and do it!

Good luck!

Oh I totally know how your feeling. I'm so the financial planner out of the 2 of us. He has gotten better, but it's like pulling teeth sometimes.
