My FI asked his father to be his Best Man too. I have never been to another wedding that has done this, but I think it was such a sweet gesture to his dad. I can't wait for it!

Re: problem
I've seen the grooms father be best man before, and it was really sweet. There are no rules about it who can be your witnesses!

Re: problem
I agree with what everyone has already said. It is your wedding and anyone can be your best man. I just want to know what she said when you told her.

Re: problem
Anyone can be his BM. You can do what you want. Maybe she is a little jealous? (I could see my FMIL saying that out of jealousy). Hope it works out for you!

Re: problem
no way that's not true at all. My mom is going to be my moh, and i think it is a great idea and a very special way to include him in the wedding.

Re: problem
I disagree with his FMIL. I have been to a few weddings where either parent was the MOH or BM. It is his wedding and he should pick who he wants right by his side.

Re: problem
What a nice gesture! your FH should have the person who means the most to him at his side that day. I agree, sounds like she's a little jealous. Good luck!

Re: problem
CHRISSY,
Your FMIL is supposed to go with the BP AFTER the ceremony anyway to take family photos. Atleast that's the way my photographer is handling it. If she wants to have people at the house, she should designate someone to be the person to let people in and lock up. I don't think SHE will have time to 'host' anything inbetween the ceremony and reception. JMO.

Re: problem
although traditionally it is not the groom father that is usually the best man, a freinf of mine recently got married and her groom had his father as the best man. The two of you need to do what is comfortable for you, it's your wedding.
