problem- need advice

Need some advice please...

So I have had this friend since I am 5 years old. We went to Grammar school and high school together. Although we went to different colleges we remained extremely close friends through it. After college we where very close also. I meando not get me wrong we have definitely had our ups and downs through the years. She has always been the person I can count on for everything. About two years ago she had a couple of deaths in her family that caused her to with draw from people. I tried to be there but there was only so much that I could do. we eventually grew away from each other. About a month ago we became friendly again. So I am not really sure what to do about my wedding. Should I ask her to be a part of it. She is the only one who asked to come to my first fitting. She came with me to my photography consultation today and then out furniture shopping tonight with me and fh. I know that in the next 2 months until my wedding she is going to become such a huge part of everything. It has been like our friendship did not take a 2 year break. Plus I am also sure that in 20 years from now she will still be my friend.....

So confused on what to do....

I wouldn't ask her to be in the BP but if you feel that strongly about her, I'd ask her to do a reading or something along those lines.

I think she sounds like a close friend...could she order a dress? Is there time? If so I think you'd feel better having her in the bridal party...a true friend is hard to find...I would try my best to put her in the bridal party..JMO

Sometimes friendships take a break. I would def. include her in someway...not sure about being in the BP...but that's totally up to you. It seems like she needed time to get her head together again to be ale to be a friend to you. I totally understand that...I went through a very similar thing personally.

if you truly know in your heart that you're gonna 'see her at 60' then you should do what you have to do to get her in the BP, or you may regret it forever. it doesn't sound like you guys ever had any problems, she just needed to sort things out for herself. but she found her way back to your friendship, which i think is great.

good luck!

Why not ask her to do a reading? This way she doesn't have to worry about quickly getting a BM dress, but will still be in the wedding.

Thank you so much for all the advice. we never really had a falling out she just withdrew from me. Which i can understand that it is hard for someone who is not going through what you are to fully understand. And I am very glad that we got back in contact with each other.
I just feel as though I want her by my side. Yesterday she said to me ' I am taking hte day off from work to be with you at your house while you are getting ready'. It sounds like she would like to be part of the day also. At leaast I think so.

If she says yes the problem will arise to find a dress. Any suggestions? The girls dresses are red. If worse comes to worse maybe I can get her a black dress with a red sash?????

I agree. She should totally be a part of your day! Call the salon ASAP and see if they can rush order a dress. Most places will do this for an additional fee. If not, maybe you can buy the sample from the store?? I know that’s not the most ideal option, but hey, if she feels the same way you do, maybe she’ll do it…. there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my friends (even wearing a stinky/tried on dress…LOL. Good Luck!

I also had a close friend since I was 5. Her behavior the last few years of our friendship became erratic and frankly disgusting. She was so rude and disrepectful to me that it destroyed the friendship.

If your friend is not beyond reach and the friendship is not beyond repair I say definitely have her be a part of the wedding

I would have given anything to have my old friend (the girl she used to be) be there on my day.
