Here's a little background, my dad passed away in 2000 and I'm not really close with his side except for my one cousin. It was really important to me to have in my bridal party because it was something that signified my dad. Well anyway he has a lot going on right now, his dad is really sick and not doing well at all and there are a bunch of other things I don't want to get into. So as of 5 minutes ago his wife told me that he can't be in the bridal party there is just too much going on and he feels really bad.
So of course FH and I printed our programs last night, we would only have such luck. So here is the predicament, FH has a really good friend I felt should have been in the bridal party from day one but we already had 10 guys and he said if he put 1 he would have to put all of his friends. So we decided to make him a reader. So here's the question should we ask the one friend to fill his spot or should I not fill it and have 2 girls walk with one guy?
If I decide to fill his spot should I make a bunch of labels and stick over my cousins name? Should I leave his name?
If I decide not to fill his spot should I leave his name in the program??????????

this is tough but honestly since you already printed the programs and since the wedding is so close, I would just leave everything as is and have 2 girls walk in with one GM.

If it were me I wouldnt fill the spot... just have two girls walk with one guy... as for the programs I would probably just leave it in also. Its not like he dropped out for a bad reason or because of a fight, your guests will understand. If anything maybe you can blank it out somehow with stickers if need be.

sorry that ***** but I would just leave the program as it is and just have 2 girls walk down with 1 guy. Im having my sister walk down with 2 guys because I have an extra guy. I think it will be just fine like that

If it was me, I'd ask his friend to be in the party and your cousin to read if he'd like.
Also, is it very troublesome for you to reprint the programs? If so, I would label over the names if possible because for FH's good friend to scramble last minute to be a good friend, step up to the plate and get a tux and do what's asked, etc I think he should be recognized IMO

Honestly I would do this too except I am super type A about this stuff so I would probably reprint them to take his name off but I would decide if you want this other guy in.. I have an uneven party, so I dont see anything wrong with have two girls walk with one guy

I have an uneven party as well although we have kind of figured it out. FH's party is his brother (Best Man), his best friend and my 3 cousins. I have 3 BMs. Basically his 2 will be standing with him at the altar and my 3 cousins will escort my girls!

I'm not really worried about having an uneven bridal party I don't know really what I'm worried about lol. I think FH is going to ask his friend and offer to pay for his tux. If he says yes I think we are going to redo the programs...more money spent OMG, We will also keep him as the reader.

FH's friend said yes and FH is going to pay for his tux since it's so last minute. I am happy because I feel like he should have been it from the beginning. He was supposed to hand out programs and the bubbles so now I am going to have to find someone else to do it. AHhhh!!!!!!!! At least one problem is solved. Now to buy a new box of programs and reprint. Poor FH was up till 4AM waiting for them all to print.
