My FMIL called us last night as we were talking she threw in she needed to find a ride home from the reception bc they will be in the limos to the church ect... The problem is we were not planning on having them in the limos, we were just going to get the limo for the BP and the rolls for us. Now my FH says we will rent FIL & my parents their own limos to pick up and drop off, we are paying for the whole wedding with no help and that is fine with me, but I think if they want a limo they can rent it themselves (same with my parents) every penny counts and I feel it should not be our problem. Please help and let me know if I am wrong or I am making a big deal out of this for no reason

If they are not giving you a penny for the wedding, the least they could do is pay for their limo JMO

I have a similiar situation. We are paying for everything and as much as I love my parents and FIL's I think they should arrange their trasnportation. (They are not going to be in the limos with the bridal party from the church to reception)

How many limos are you having??? My FIL's will be dropping their car off at Fox Hollow earlier that day. They will be taking the limo with the guys from FH's house to the Church.... They will have a ride to Fox Hollow after the ceremony NOT by the limo, though...
IMO, I do not think spending extra $$ for a limo just for them is necessary... so I'm with you on this.... would my method work???
Good luck!

No, you aren't wrong.. both FH's parents and mine are paying for their own limos.. why should you have to pay the extra expense? I mean, if you want to go tit for tat call and find out from your limo company how much it would cost to pick up and drop off (have both parents split the limo)
your limo company will probably throw in a return pick up or a ride to the airport for the extra business..
our limo guy quoted us at like 300 bucks or somethig.. I'm sure being that they haven'thad to lay anything out for the wedding, both parents can come up with 150 per couple..

Re: Problem with FIL and limos
We were not going to get my parents & FILs limos but then my dad & FFIL wanted a limo, so we explained to them that we could not afford to pay for their limo so they each paid for their own limos. They limo will pick them up, bring them to the church, bring them to the reception and then back home. I ordered them when I ordered mine, so I got a package deal but then I figured out their prices each and they each paid their own.

OH S**T! I FORGOT ABOUT THEM GETTING TO THE PLACE. They live in South Carolina and I don't even know where they are staying yet. Do you have room for them in the limo for the BP? I know what you mean - if I had the balls and in your situation I would say that BECAUSE WE ARE PAYING FOR THE WHOLE THING, THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS GET YOUR OWN LIMOS. But of course usually no one will say that. My advice, talk to you FH about it and say that he has to make the decision and talk to his parents about it. Have they thought about getting home?

What about arraning for town car service instead of a limo? It's much cheaper and doesn't have the minimum time (3hrs) like limos do.

Re: Problem with FIL and limos
tell them youll call them a cab.
If they were paying for some of the wedding then i would say that you have to provide a ride for them, but since they arent giving you a cent let them take the rail road home.

Re: Problem with FIL and limos
We are providing a limo for the parents but no pick up after the reception. FH's parents will ride with a family member who will use the IL car and my parents will leave their car at CB earlier in the day. We didn't want them mixed with the BP so the BP can enjoy themselves without the old folks.

Re: Problem with FIL and limos
My parents said they wanted to drive, but I am not getting married at the church, otherwise they would have dropped off their car earlier so they could have a way home after the reception. If they want a limo, they should have to pay for it.

Re: Problem with FIL and limos
They should either drop off a car the day before or pay for a cab home. This is not your responsiblity and your FH should tell them that the limos will cost too much for you to cover.
