my bridal shower is being thrown by my mom and it is not a surprise. Well my mom brought the invitiations home today and they have typos on them... first of all it is say 'at the Surprised Bridal Shower...' and then my name is spelled wrong... The word surprised is in the past tense... and the party is NOT a surprise... what should i do? just leave them like that, or go back and try to fix them? or buy new one?
your help is greatly needed and appreciated! thanx!

As an editor....I think you should change it if possible. Sorry, errors like this make me cringe! Is it too late? If the place where you got them did not give you the chance to proof them, then they should absolutely print you new ones. If they did send you a copy to proof and you missed it, I think it's worth getting redone. Just my opinion. Good luck!

see if i had ordered them, i would be having a fit on the phone right now with the invitation store. But my mom ordered them... so i don't know if i should tell her that they made a mistake

Absolutely tell her. My MIL ordered cute invitations for the rehearsal dinner, and when I saw them, they had a spelling error. I told her and she definitely wanted them fixed. I think you should. You'll have a copy of the invite forever...you want it to be nice!

thanx for your help girls.... i talked to my mom and she said she already knew about the mistakes, but the store where she bought them from will not let her redo them (they said they showed her a proof, she says they didn't). But she wants to get new ones anyway, she knows she can't send them out like that... so i guess we are starting from scratch.

if she says that they didnt show her, then she should go to the manager and demand that they redo them. stores will usually fold if the customer is demanding enough. you are right to change the mistakes, i had received a shower invite with spelling/grammar errors and a poem that starts off rhyming and the stops rhyming...it was like a joke to my family that went. ~lacey

I would definitely send them back to be changed ASAP. I cannot believe that an invitation co. would print such grammatical errors! If it will taketoo long to get them redone, I' would go to kinkos and get nice invitation card stock and print them myself. They even have nice envelopes to match - ANd of course, then I'd demand my $$$ back from the invite co. Good luck!!!
ETA: Even if you DID proof them, I would not give them any more $! So you did not catch the mistake. I think proof reading is for you to correct any spelling errors in names, etc., At the very least I'd have them reprint them for free.
