Program Question for Jewish Ceremony

What is the deal with programs? My mom just brought this up that we should have programs with a listing of the people we will be remembering with sayings or prayers. Is this what everyone does? Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if we're going to have one. I have a copy of one that was given out at a wedding that my parents went to last year. It's actually a really nice one. The first page is a letter thanking everyone for coming and thanking their parents for the wedding. The next two pages list the wedding party, rabbi and cantor, and all other people involved in the ceremony. The next page describes all the different Jewish customs and traditions that were used in the ceremony and the last page is dedicated to those who couldn't be there. It's a very good model that I would follow if I decide to make them. I'm not sure about spending the extra money to have them printed.
