Program questions
My program is structured so that I am not listing family members, I am listing people walking down the aisle. So it is in this order:
grandparents of the groom: grandmother of the bride: father and stepmother of the groom: mother of the groom: mother and father of the bride: (this is the one exception, because he will be walking me)
As for those who have passed, we wrote on the opposite page:
As we take this important step in our lives, we do so with the memory of our loved ones who are no longer with us.
The Bride and her family remember:
The Groom and his family remember:
Also, if you are getting married in a church, you can mention her during the prayers of the faithful. If you are not getting married in a church, you can work in mentioning her wherever you want!
Hopefully that helps with some of the politics of the wedding stuff! If FH really doesn't want to refer to her as stepmother, maybe write Father of the groom: John Doe escorting Jane Doe. But my advice is do what you need to do to not stir the pot. If that will cause drama, just write her as stepmother because that is technically her relation. No additional drama is worth it!
