I hear everyone talking about programs, but I'm not sure I've ever been to a wedding that had them. My ceremony is at the hall. Do I need to have programs, or is that something you typically do if you are getting married at a church? I'm not sure its needed in my situation...

Re: programs?
its always an extra and honestly never really needed, just a personal preference. I havent seen programs at ceremonies in a RH either so you dont have to do it, its completely up to you. I got married in a church and did programs and again just to add another personal touch not bc i had to. Not even sure how many ppl actually took them and looked at them lol

Re: programs?
Totally your call - I think they are more for honoring people (you list out the names of your bridal party, if you've lost loved ones you can have a special section in memory of them...that sort of thing. ) I like when people have them so I can see who everyone is etc. For me, I lost my Dad so it's also a place where I can write some thoughts about him etc. If it seems like too much of a hassle, you don't need them.

Re: programs?
I just bought my ceremony programs. Its def. not a must.... Actually I got them from Michaels I used their coupon (50%)- you can actually print them yourself. It was 8.50 for 50 programs. Not bad at all and you can always add ribbon to make it look more elegant.

Re: programs?
I'm having the ceremony at the RH as well and am not doing programs. I've been to weddings that DID have them at the church and seriously just glanced at them and put them down. I suppose it is good if you want to honor someone that's passed, but otherwise, I don't feel it's necessary. Purely a personal choice.

I love reading them to see who's who and to take notes for my wedding! I hope someone likes something enough to take note of it!

Re: programs?
Totally not necessary. I got married at the RH and decided that it would be a cool thing but if I got to it I got to it. I decided to make them but I didn't go crazy. I made fans-got cardstock and glued the pieces to popsicle sticks. If it wasn't for the fact that they were fans that would help keep my guests cool I don't think I would have decided to make them.

Re: programs?
They are a preference... We had them and our wedding ceremony and reception was at the RH. Programs can be a way to show honor and acknowledge all the key people that are apart of making your day so special. and it is helpful if there is a cultural or religion elements that not everyone will be familiar with. A special reading or prayer you may want people to follow along with. It's a nice touch- but nothing to stress about and not always necessary.
also my guests as I look at my proofs and video used them as sun protection as the sun set behind us but I guess was a glare to most people.
