i'm not having the ceremony in a church and at this point i think we might only have one short 'reading'.

Re: Programs
I am back and forth about them. I don't want to spend much on them, and I bet I'll just forego it completely in the end. Totally not necessary.

Re: Programs
i think its up to YOU. most people wont realize it or care....but if you want to add that 'extra touch' and make something different, then do it....(and if you have the funds and time of course)
personally im doing it! this is where me and FH will introduce the BP and say our thank yous

EXACTLY this! I was going to do them and list the bridal party, explain the different relgious traditions we had (Jewish and Catholic) and put a thank you to our parents and a rememberance poem...at the end of the day we decided not to. We didn't have time or money to put into them and no one (my bridal party s*cked) could help us. No one missed them.
Another reason we didn't have them is people would have to walk around with them or leave them in the room. Since we got married at the RH, it's not like people are going to their car between the ceremony and the reception so it would have been a lot of work for a lot of garbage or people trying to carry drinks, food, and this program to their seat.

Re: Programs
i'm doing it because i like the idea of 'introducing' my bridal party that way. I want them to be recognized. I'm making it a DIY project, so the cost is minimal too

Re: Programs
i am having a long indian wedding and i am not doing programs. if i did it would probably be about 4 pages long...it just doesnt make sense cost wise. and the priest will be explaining every step anyway

Re: Programs
I don't think they are needed. I think it's just another way of introducing the bridal party, readers, and parents.
It gets thrown away after the ceremony anyway.

Re: Programs
We'll probably do them but its nothing big
We're considering these ones with preprinted covers ... its only $6.99 for 100 these
and do something fun like this on the inside (the crossword puzzle)

Re: Programs
thanks ladies!
i'm on the fence, if i do them they will be DIY. so i guess i have to decide if i want to spend the time. i just don't want to spend the time and everyone throws them out anyway

Re: Programs
we had a jewish ceremony, and with a bunch of non-jewish guests, programs gave us the opportunity to provide an overview about all aspects of the ceremony.
they don't have to be expensive. we created our template in word, bought nice paper from paper presentation and had a printer make copies/score for folding. total cost was around $150 for 200 programs!

this! i'm not totally sold on it... the only reason i would say we may need them is for the 'thank you' on the back...

Re: Programs
My DOC recommended I use them for mine, as we are incorporating different religions and traditions.
