I just bought this book to prep myself for my marriage. I'm about 60 pages in and I can't put it down. It's full of great advice to keep your relationship going smoothly with your man.
Have any of you ladies read it?

Re: Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
sounds like a book that would have been appropriate if it were 1910, not 2010..

Re: Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
LOL
I am a modern woman; but you know what after living with FH for 2 years; i've learned there are thing that Men like not that they expect it; but things that are probably in that book like cooking and keeping a clean house. FH cleans but he likes that i keep our house clean. And he appreciates that i cook and all the little things.
But each man is different (as my FH tells me this from the kitchen LOL) and some men like certain things and being mindful and doing them (just like there are things we want our men to do) keep the relationship strong.

I've been with FH for over 5 years.. living together for almost 3.. I don't need any book to tell me how to properly care or feed my husband

What is the book about?
The main theme is that men are simple creatures, and need affection, appreciation and admiration in order to be happy with their woman. Men choose who they want to be married to. It's up to you (as the wife) to keep in mind these needs, and men will bend over backwards to do their best to make you happy.
I've never read anything before this book that has taken steps to solving the problem of unhappy marriages.
Here's a great review: http://www.amazon.com/review/RVAT1CMJN7J47/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#RVAT1CMJN7J47

Re: Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
I cook and i clean every single day. and Why? becuase i love to cook. i lvoe to cook for all my friends and i love how i cook. and I clean becuase i love seeing my apt clean and i find that nobody cleans it like me.
I've lived with my FH for a year and half now, and i asked him before to do the dishes to help me since i do everything else and what did he do, he went and got me a dishwasher... LOL so now he loads the dishwasher. But i really dont mind all the other stuff. i like doing it. I guess when we have children maybe he will need to clean

Re: Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
yea, im definitely not gonna make any special preparations, he asked me to marry him, now hes stuck with me! The way I am!! loll....on the other hand I do sort of agree with what you said the book is about, for example I know FH gets very defensive whenever Im upset or mad about something he automatically assumes its about him and he is a simple creature in the fact that most things with us can be solved if I don't loose my cool, boys just dont like feeling like they are wrong, but sometimes they are and they need to hear it!!! No special treatment.

The title kind of turns me off, but I think that in this day and age, if someone titles their book like this, they do it to gain attention. So kudos to them for having all of us talk about it.
That being said, aside from the title, I cannot judge anything else about it because I haven't ever looked at it. It's never good to judge a book by the cover, ladies.

Yes, that's the term I was looking for! My brain sometimes shuts down late at night and I revert to third-grade level chatter.

It sound interesting! But if I sit down and read a book about how to cater to his needs, you can be sure he'll be sitting next to me with a book about how to cater to mine. It's a two way street.
