Anyone know the rule on this? There used to be a fence in our yard put up by the old neighbors (they don't live there antmor) and it is ove the property line by a foot and a half. The new owners know this. We have talked to them about taking down what remains of the fence and they said they are going to do it as soon as they can put up bushes.
Anyone know what the laws on this are?

Re: Property Lines?
This is a legal matter that can be addressed through reading your property survey. Dig up the survey and check the property lines which will be on there. That is the only way to determine who owns what.

Re: Property Lines?
depends on how long the fence has been up...law school was a long time ago but I know there's a rule in NY that if it was up for 10 or 20 years or something then the neighbor can't take it down even if it's on their property

Re: Property Lines?
it should be done soon...my sister had a problem with a neighbor extending a deck onto their property... if left for a certain amount of years then they can claim it as their property....
