UPDATE! We're Engaged!

Well, as many of you know Mike and I had our 6 year anniversary on the 14th. So, it was decided that we would celebrate on Saturday the 17th. Mike made dinner reservations at 10:00 and told me that he had something planned before dinner. He picked me up at 6:15 and told be we were going to the Vanderbilt Museum to see a show at the planetarium. We have been there before and I was excited because the planetarium is amazing. We got there and had the whole place to ourselves. Little did I know, he had rented it out.

So, there we were - sitting in the planetarium all by ourselves. The sky started to turn dark (as if the sun was setting) and little by little each star was appearing. It was absolutely gorgeous . I felt as if we were lying outside starring up at the sky. Then, 'our' song came on, Only Time from Enya and I thought how adorable and said to Mike, 'our song!' The song is special to us because years ago when we were going off to college we were a little unsure about how things would turn out for us and 'only time' would tell. Anyway, Mike had brought in a CD that he made of 3 songs but at the time I didn't even realize it. I just thought that it was a coincidence. Then, 'You and Me' from Lifehouse came on and all of a sudden ...

I saw words starting to appear in the stars and when I saw my name I was shocked, it read, 'Justine, to me you are perfect. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.' I started to cry of course and still thought, for a second, that that was it. Then, I looked up again and it said Will You Marry Me? I have never been so surprised with anything in my entire life. Obviously, I said YES!

We called all of our friends and family to share the news. Most of them knew because Mike had been planning this for a year! We made a few special stops, our friends are truly wonderful!

Lastly, we went to dinner at Nick D'Angelos. When we got to our table there was a large white candle on it and roses waiting for me. 3 pink and 3 red (one for each year we have been together) and a card. The whole night is something I will never forget.

I was proposed to with a Ring Pop - seriously...it was the most random day, we were not doing anything special. in fact when he came over, i was doing my nails (how fitting!) - but the Ring Pop was the best part! I couldn't stop laughing and crying! very memorable! I wonder how many carats it would be if it was a real diamond....hmmm....

Do something that is special to the two of you- take her where you went on your first date, or on your first anniversary

believe me when I say however you do it---- it will always be special to her... just don't put it in any kind of food or drink- a lot of people have accidently eaten or drank their rings- not a good start lol

we got engaged in vegas on new years- i used to teas my fiance that i wanted thousands of people and fireworks- so we were on the strip when the clock hit midnight and the fireworks started going off and he went down on one knee- it was truly the most amazing night of my life.

Seriously, no matter how you propose, it will always be special and memorable to her.

Keep her personality in mind, though - some people would love to be proposed to in front of all of Shea Stadium or on National TV, but... some of us would prefer a more intimate setting!

MY DH made a slideshow of pics set to music basically telling the story of us....
He got me to Loews movie theatre in Westbury while they were closed...on a Sat morning at like 10am....don't ask how he got me there but it was very believable.....thought I was seeing the trailer for the RENT movie (I love the play) and on came this movie he had made......the last picture was a picture of my ring and he pulled out the actual ring right then and there and proposed...it was the best proposal I've ever heard of!!!

not sure if u proposed yet (if so congrats!), but my hubby popped the question in the most suprising way possible(and i think any other way i would've known), he had planned on sleeping over, and in the middle of the night came upstairs to my room and woke me up! First he gave me a cute little card about getting married, but me, still having no idea and being half asleep said 'oh ur so sweet' - he then said 'wait, that's not it...' and he was on one knee next to my bed and asked the big question!!! Some people are like 'what?! the middle of the night?!' but it was so romantic being that it was just the two of us, and I was so thrown back & SHOCKED....because i had absolutely NO IDEA...how could u lol. needless to say, i never went back to sleep that night lol. i was so suprised and in awe!!!!!!

ps: be sure to tell us how u ended up doing it!!!!!

Honestly i think whatever way you do it...it will be very special and she will never forget..
