Providence, Rhode Island??

I'm going for a few days with FH, my brothers and their wives, Has anyone ever been there? Anything fun to do there?

I know there's a few beaches not too far but other than that I'm wondering what we're gonna do there.

I was born and raised in Providence, RI. I've been in NY for 5 years now. All my friends and family are still in RI. There are some nice things to do. You should definitely go to Newport. It is beautiful there. There are mansions, different shops, different restaurants, tall ships etc. In Providence you should go to Federal Hill (little Italy area where I am from) You can tour the long strip and they have the most amazing restaurants....especially 'Zuma'....my cousin ownes it!! LOL Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

My mom is from Providence and I've been there a few times for family reunions, but haven't been in many years. I do remember the mansions though. Have fun!

I'm crashing.
Maggie the guy next to me is from Rhode Island and he said check out the waterfire show. They pretty much set pieces of the river on fire but he said alot of people go to that. http://www.waterfire.org/

Thayer Street has all the bars and restaurants on it. It's by Brown University he said. He said it's a decent scene.

He said theres not a lot to do in Rhode Island. He said theres a pretty big mall there too.

Sorry to crash, but I'm a JW alumni too... well, sorta. Just went for two years (not the culinary part... just business and studied PR there then left and got my BA at Kean).

A lot to do in RI... such a small state you can go to Newport and go shopping, check out the mansions, sit on the beach, take a boat tour on the water. Providence is great for shopping, go to the water park, dinners, Federal HIll for dinner, etc

My ex actually went to Providence College so I was up there almost every weekend

Do not miss out on going over to Newport! I absolutely love it and the food is great. There are really cute inns you can stay in or fabulous hotels
