Providing flip flops at the reception for all women
My friend did this at her wedding reception and I loved the idea. About an hour into the reception, her DJ announced that there were Chinese slippers on stage in every size for all the women who's feet ached. I thought that was such a great idea! In Chinatown, I'm sure you could get them real cheap. I want to do this as well but feel like I'm copying her idea (which I am!). We have no friends in common so no one else would know she did this first.
Can someone recommend a website or place where I could get cheap flip flops for about 30-40 people that is NOT chinatown? I don't want to copy her exactly!

You could just go to Old Navy (soon, before summer's over) and get a bunch of flip flops there. They're 2 for 5 dollars. So for 40, you'll pay about a hundred dollars.

I bought 40 pairs at Old Navy. It was like $100 and totally worth it. I put them in a big wicker basket next to the dance floor with a little sign that said 'Dancing Shoes' and they were all gone

They sell chinese slippers in the 99cent stores.. Usually the bigger ones.. I've seen them in a few of the stores.

a lot of people do this, so its okay if you copy her. China town is def a good place to go get them!

I have half a box of flip flops left...probably about 30 pair ranging from size 8-12 women's. I'm looking to get rid of them if you're interested. They're free.

The old Navy in Green Acres Mall has them for $1 at least they did last weekend. Go check!!

Thanks Gina. I'm thinking I should just do the chinese mesh slippers. Since her wedding was before mine, I doubt she'd mind!

99cent stores are the best way to go for these ... how would you know what sizes to get though?

Littlepixie - I would get 20 in the smaller size (6 or smaller), 20 in medium (size 7-8) and then 20 in large (size 9+).

* Just remember flip flops won't be an option for any of your guests that wear pantyhose that day, and in October, there might be a few? And as a rule, the older female guests will ALWAYS wear 'em!!! So the mesh chinese slippers might be a better option, or you could even do 1/2 and 1/2!

Thanks Colette! These are the ones my friend provided at her wedding in May. I was trying to avoid copying her but I like them so much that I may just have to get them too!

Actually... u can go this weekend and they are 1 buck a pair. 5 pairs per purchase so just do it a few times. lol
