Public Service Announcement

Maybe it's just because I'm getting sick and I'm kinda crabby today but there are A LOT of repetitive posts lately. Probably because all the new brides from New Year's and Christmas are finding their way here (WELCOME!!).

I've noticed that the repeat posts especially dont' get a lot of replies because we JUST had a thread about it.

So if you want info about something, the first thing to do is go to the Search link and do a search. It's located right above the - - - Select A Forum - - - drop down menu.

I've searched for photog quotes, DJ quotes, RH quotes, Tessa, Velvet, CLM, Chateau La Mer, photo booth, etc. and it's really really helpful because you get posts from any board (Vendors Helping Brides, Brides Reviews, 09, Brides Helping Brides, etc.) or you can restrict it to certain boards.

Then if you don't get what you need, you can ask a more specific question and you're more likely to get replies.

Rant over. And I'm sorry for being obnoxious.

Can you search for a specific thread in a specific forum? And do you use the search tab on the top after you've arrived at the right forum, or do you just have to hunt for the right thread?

I undesrstand what you are saying but sometimes the search tab doesnt work well and you get poor results. Truthfully, I don't have a problem with repeat posts because I wouldnt want someone telling me not to ask a question I have.

Not to be an A-hole....but MOST of our questions have been asked before...in '08, '07, '06, '05 ect.

Lauren, you're quite correct, if my experience is to be trusted. I would search for things and not find them, so I tested it, by searching for things, I KNEW were on here, and it did not work!!!!! Maybe I'm not a good searcher!!!!! Mary MOB

yeah thats what i meant...we have asked the same questions that hav ebeen asked already...if you dont feel like answering thats ok, but i feel like people can still ask them

I don't mind if the question are asked again. I might actually learn something from them that I didn't know before.

I've also had trouble with the search function before where it wouldn't bring up posts re: specific topics I was looking for. Sometimes it helps to just ask the girls and those who can provide a quick answer and don't mind will help you get answers you're looking for much quicker than manipulating the search thingy, which can sometimes be a PITA!

ETA: also, if we didn't ask questions that had been answered before in previous posts (and even previous years) we'd have a pretty dead board!

Yea I don't mind either. Sometimes there might even be new information on a repeat thread that wasn't on a previous one.

I agree...I don't mind the same question... if it's like 10 of them in one day than I understand...but every so often..I don't mind that...

I don't mind repeaters and of course info changes and need to be updated all that but there are a few questions that have come up even in the last week or 2 and are coming up again this week that are being asked again today. It's those kinds of repeaters where it's like I'm not answering this question again.

I didn't mean to be a grouch, it was really more to help them get more responses and more info.

Honestly you have to expect the same questions to be asked. 1. Some new ladies are not aware of the search ... then when you do search you sometimes have to go through pages.. to to find your answer. I think all the NEW post, & REPEAT post keep this site going... Sometimes I read a post I already read and learn something NEW because someone else may answer with a different perspective & answer!

My point was that you're not gonna get as detailed answers if it's just been asked. The search option is there.

I think we've had about 3 posts about brown BM dresses looking okay with black tuxes in the past week and a half.

Maybe do a search or check back a few pages so you can get an answer to your question that was asked a week ago.
