Public Service Announcement to brides whose BM's are wearing W&W style no. 6270!!
First let me say that I am so sorry to be reporting this b/c I LOVE this dress and almost got it for my BM's. I went to a wedding on Saturday and the BM's had this dress and they looked fantastic. HOWEVER, the bunches on the dress (for lack of a better word) were coming apart the whole day and night - they had to use safety pins b/c they were tripping all over themselves. So PLEASE just be sure to bring a entire box of safety pins just in case this happens to your girls!

How are the pick-up's kept in place? Did the manufacturer hold them w/thread or are they just 'ironed' into that position?

There must be thread there - maybe a seamstress can reinforce it and put some extra thread there?

I looked at them in the store and my sister tried it all and all the pickups were falling off the dress

It is tacked with thread... So most likely you just need to re-enforce them...
I wouldn't worry if they are your dresses... Just re-enforce.

These are my dresses and there was no problem at all with the sample that my girls tried on. I love this dress and I am not worried at all - it was the only dress that looked AMAZING on all my girls (I have all sizes ) I love the tip, though, my FMIL sews and said it will be nothing to reinforce the pick-ups. Thanks for the heads up!

Def. reinforce it!!!
Also, if the girls at the wedding this past weekend needed a lot of alterations, they may have had those pick ups re-done, maybe it was their tailor's fault.
Great dress, though!

its my dress too! The one my maid of honor got seems fine, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious. Thanks! do you have any pics of the brides maids that you could post?

I think as long as you ask the seamstress to reinforce it there will be no problems. Like I said, I love this dress and think it is beautiful, just wanted people to be aware - sorry to have to bear the news. Sorry, no pics yet, but the girls still looked beautiful!

they make a nice version of this at david's bridal...maybe you should go there and see what happens with that dress..see if the pickups fall apart

THATS MY DRESSES!!! YIKES... Only the Maid of Honor is wearing that skirt all the other girls are in an A-line... hope it all works out. Just in case i'll bring the saftey pins

My friend from work was just showing me pics from a wedding she was in in Italy over the weekend and she was wearing this dress... She said the dress was PIN STRAIGHT an hour into the reception..... I thought this dress was so beautiful, so I hope that everyone does bring safety pins, since it really is gorgeous!
