Puccini's in Flushing/Whitestone?

Hello ladies...has anyone tried out the new little Italian restaurant Puccini's across from McDonald's on Frannie Lewis? It used to be that Jewish deli....any comments?

Good question. I live right down the road and have never been there.

I've been there a couple of months ago. The food was good as I recall, but we were the only ones in there!

Hey, I lived in the apartment building right on the corner of Willets Point Blvd and Clintonville. I had no idea the jewish deli closed down. I wish it was an italian place when I lived there! I used to wait for the express bus right in front of that McDonalds.

How cool! I took the Express bus too for a while.

It's been more crowded lately (the restaurant), been meaning to try it but kind of hesitant.

Lots of us girls from Bayside, Whitestone, Flushing on here!

I used to ***** about my commute to 4th and Broadway when I lived in New Hyde Park, so I moved to Whitestone, and started taking the Q16 to the 7 in Flushing and it took me 90 years to get to work. I was rushing one day and decided to take the QM2A and that was the last time I took the Q16. The same thing happened with laundry. I used to go to the laundromat and one time it piled up so high that I got laundry service. That was the last time I did my own laundry! Then I moved even FURTHER east (to move in with DH) and commuted from OAKDALE to NYC until I started to look like a drained rat and finally got the courage to quit and go into teaching. Let me know how that restaurant is. Next time I'm in my old hood, I'll give it a try.

How pricey is it? I should go look at the menu one day....I drive by it everyday on my way home from work.

I live a few blocks away and have been meaning to go and try it out. It looks very nice from the outside.

I didn't go, but my cousin did. They walked out after the appetizer. She didn't like it, but her and her husband are also food snobs. So I think it depends on what you like - if you think of Olive Garden as good Italian, etc.

I think right before it was Puccinis- it was a steak place too after the Jewish deli.

ETA - nice to see so many of us from that neck of the woods. I'm an express bus rider too.

how funny that we may all be riding with each other and not even realize it! I take either the QM2 or QM2A, it depends whatever has seats .

I don't live far from there but I've never noticed it. LOL!

What time does the Express Bus leave that stop girls? I have to be at work at 930am. I take the LIRR now.

You can check the schedule at
express bus

See if it's worth switching. They also have buses that run on Northern Blvd and Union Tpke (not sure where you live)

Thanks Donna! The Northern Blvd. leaves way too early for me and they only have 2 buses that run in the morning
