Ok girls, these are the 2 halls that I can afford & that are large enough to fit my party. any comments or preference? anyone been to a wedding at puck?
The westside people were really really nice, but I think puck is prettier...

Re: puck building & westside loft
I've never been to a wedding at Puck but I spent last NYE at a party there...
I think the important thing to remember is that both spaces are lofts, so it's pretty much 'bare bones' - you'll have to bring in a lot of flowers, other decorations.
But, the Puck Building is very nice!

I would choose the Puck building. I agree that it's prettier but you will still need to dress it up.

thanks guys. yea both require decor, but I kind of like the decorating it yourself thing. you can go with whatever colors & styles you want.
Honestly my fav was tribeca rooftop, but its not in our price range
I read some bad reviews of puck on the weddinchannel forum so I'm getting a bit worried.

Re: puck building & westside loft
I think the puck building is in a more desirable location. The westside loft at night is not exactly the safest area in nyc. I like the puck building better. I agree that the people at the puck arent that nice.
What other loft venues did you look at?

Did you look at the Downtown Association or The Yale Club? Not loft-like and I don't know if it's in your price range, but maybe worth a look?

actually not that many. we limited it to places that can hold 200 people and allow outside catering. i wanted to check out the angel orenz building but they have a strict ending at 11 policy, which we dont want to deal with.
I'm checking out a lot of LI & NJ places since there are more in our price range, but for whatever reason i really would rather have it in manhattan.

Re: puck building & westside loft
i've been to both for various corporate events and I have to say the Puck Building in a hundred times nicer. The Westside Loft is much cozier if you have a small wedding, but it's also very barren and cold. I'm also not too fond of the location. The Puck Building seems more classier and is definitely the prettier of the two and I love the downtown SoHo area.

200 people would be really crowded in the westside loft...
