pumpkins for place settings?

I thought I read here that someone is using mini pumkins as place settings. This sounds like a great idea, but I was wondering exactly how this is done or if anyone has an pictures.

Yes..Teri did..the post is pretty recent.

I am doing them for my place cards. I made a couple at home to test but will probably not finish until the week before because I don't want the pumpkins to go bad! I have also seen them done with apples, pears and pinecones (Martha Stewart).

I think this is a great idea..........I wonder if you can freeze the pumpkins to prevent them from going bad?

I have no clue. I have been searching the interenet on how to preserve a pumpkin but most sites say how to do it after it has been carved. I boughtmine last Saturday because I was near a pumpkin farm. I think they should last until the 26th.

From what I read it said to keep them at room temperature with air (not enclosed).

I remember when me and my sister were little our pumpkins lasted for months.
