I've heard the two nicest ones are Secrets (or Excellence- whatever the name is now) and the Pardisus Palma Real. I did Secrets last october and had the time of my life. This sounds really cheesy but you could feel the 'romance' in the air. Its adults only, and pretty much everyone is a couple. Everyone seemed to be celebrating something (honeymoon, anniversary or engagement). The food is great, the entertainment is great and I loved that there was a hot tub in every room. Some evenings the maids filled the tub with bubble bath and flower petals. Very pretty and romantic. The only complaint I heard from some people was that the beach was too wavy. I LOVED the beach. It was no worse than Jones Beach waves (and FH thought even tamer than Jones) I thought it made it more fun...I go to the beach for waves not for pool like water.
My friends did their honeymoon in Riu Palace and loved it too!
I second Secrets.... I went there a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. Every room has a hot tub, it is all inclusive, has a casino and night club on the premises. It has a lot of restaurants to eat at. There is one, not sure of the name, but it requires reservations, and you must get dressed up, jacket for the men. They have a top of the line menu and again it is included. They also have live entertainment. The only thing that was bad, was the mosquitoes. I went in January, and they were all over. You actually can't see them and you don't feel them when they bite, but the next day, wow you itch like crazy. Love love the resort.
