Punta Cana

DH and I are looking into going there.

Can anyone recommend any good resorts please.

I have been to DR about 4 times already but never to Punta Cana.

there are a couple of paridisus there that are supposed to be nice. And there is an excellence there. But i have neer been to them- just saw them when doing reasearch.

i went there in dcemeber of 05 and loved it!!

Iberostar Punta Cana. That particular one was renovated. I went there for HM. All inclusive.

I've heard the two nicest ones are Secrets (or Excellence- whatever the name is now) and the Pardisus Palma Real. I did Secrets last october and had the time of my life. This sounds really cheesy but you could feel the 'romance' in the air. Its adults only, and pretty much everyone is a couple. Everyone seemed to be celebrating something (honeymoon, anniversary or engagement). The food is great, the entertainment is great and I loved that there was a hot tub in every room. Some evenings the maids filled the tub with bubble bath and flower petals. Very pretty and romantic. The only complaint I heard from some people was that the beach was too wavy. I LOVED the beach. It was no worse than Jones Beach waves (and FH thought even tamer than Jones) I thought it made it more fun...I go to the beach for waves not for pool like water.

My friends did their honeymoon in Riu Palace and loved it too!

If you want seclusion, romance and NO KIDS...Excellence is your place. My sister stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real and said it was gorgeous...but there are a lot of kids there and it is not secluded the way Excellence is. The bad reviews on tripadvisor made us nervous, but it is an amazing resort, and we loved it!!

Definitely secluded, and they don't make you wear the braclets like other places.

In fact we had such a great time there that FH is having a hard time planning our honeymoon. He can't seem to find a place that is as beautiful and has as great service.

But whatever you decide you will have a great time on your honeymoon! and I am jealous that ido06 gets to go back again!

we are going there as well for our honeymoon.

I got engaged at Sunscape the Beach in Punta Cana. its amazing there. You can see pics in my album. I work in the travel industry and was in Punta Cana in November for work. I toured a ton of properties. My favorites were paradisus palma real, Melia, and Iberostars. But most of the hotels were nice.
Check out Apple Vacations website. most of the properties that are five or six apples are awesome. You can't go wrong with any of them. Punta Cana is my new favorite destination!
