Looking to plan my 1 yr anniversary trip and are thinking about one of the above places. Has anyone been to or know anyone who has been to any of these places. Which one do you recommend? Any specific resorts? Looking for All-Inclusive. I know Breeze/Superclubs has a place in both Punta Cana and Brazil...
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Cant wait to be

Re: Punta Cana, Belize or Brazil
I would choose Brazil. Brazil has a good party scene. We plan on going one year for carnival. Unless you want to be romantic. A friend lived in Belize while she went to school and she said its very dead out there. Very small too. I heard Punta Cana is great but that isn't at the top of my list of places to visit.

FH and I went to Punta Cana over the summer last year. While the beaches were beautiful we got bored fast because there isn't much to do there. We stayed at a 5 star hotel too and the food wasn't that great. Overall I wouldn't reccommend DR to anyone. I would say Brazil.

Re: Punta Cana, Belize or Brazil
I have been to Punta Cana and had a great time (also been to the same resort chain in Puerta Plata and like Punta Cana better). I loved it...but to me it is a bang for the buck type place...if money is an issue this is a perfect place to go for fun, relaxation and low price tag. Belize sounds romantic and relaxing. Brazil is tons of fun. (never been to either but have friends who have gone and are definitely on my list to visit).
The resort I stayed at was wonderful. It was very nice and clean, food was great and the people are so friendly. I stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro. It is the nicest of the three Iberostars and less children than the other 2. If you stay at this one you can use the facilities of all three which is nice. There is a casino, disco and like 10 restaurants. You can't really go off the resort unless with an organized tour. I went on one tour and it was amazing. Very eye-opening. Debbie's Dominican Republic website -is a great resource (lots of reviews).

Re: Punta Cana, Belize or Brazil
I've been to both Punta Cana and Belize, never Brazil. FH and I both fell in love with Belize, but it is very quiet and relaxing. We were there during a hurricane two years ago. Despite the bad weather for a couple of days, we found plenty of things to see and do. There is no bar scene other than the little open air thatched huts on the beaches. If nightlife is what you are looking for, don't go to Belize or Punta Cana.
Can't speak for Brazil.

My friend Evelyn stayed at one of the islands they call Cayes (Pronounced Keys), called Ambergris Caye, it's the most popluar one. It's where they filmed Tempation Island and Madonna got her inspiration to write her song 'La Isla Bonita'. She stayed a two places, first one is Victoria House,
http://www.victoria-house.com She LOVED!!!!!! This place.
then they stayed at Ramon's Village where they just filmed an episode of 'Wild on E' not too long ago. http://www.ramons.com She didn’t like this one too much
Then she stayed a week at San Ignacio at 2002 Eco-Tourism Award Winning Chaa Creek Cottages
http://www.chaacreek.com Or you can stay at Five Sisters Lodge: http://www.fivesisterslodge.com Or Francis Ford Coppola's Place: http://www.blancaneauxlodge.com
Then they did a couple of days in Tikal, Guatemala & hiking up the Mayan Ruins then ended her our trip in Belize City. Everything, including all transportation to & from all our hotels, plus their own guide in Tikal and a couple of other tours (plus remember we're staying at all the Honeymoon suites in Belize) cost them a little over $4000 for two weeks. Airfare was about $1000. It probably would have been less if they didn’t go to Guatemala.
While surfing the net she came across a small company owned by two Americans who vacationed in Belize and fell in love with the country & decided to move their & open up their own tourism agency. Their names are Mike & Donna & they run Belize-Eco Tours. THey are REALLY sweet & helpful, you can e-mail them at: [email protected]
