Our dog was the same way. Pebbles would cry all night in the crate. so after the 2nd day (at 10 wks old) I just decided to let her sleep with me. And it was wierd because she was fine all night, no accidents. But she is a really great dog. SHe would actually go to the bathroom in the cage, which they say they wont do. But when we went out we kept her crated.
She trained very quickly too we didnt do wee wee pads, (we felt that after we spent time training her with that we would have to train her to go outside.. and that is too much work) we started walking her on our lawn and it helped having another dog, because she sort of watched what he did. she was trained fully by 5 months. after she got her rabies we walked her in the street.

Re: Puppies
When FH and I first got our puppy, we tried to crate train her. All she would do was cry and whine and pee!!! After about a week of NO sleep, we gave in and let her sleep with us. To this day she still does and it's never a problem. She sleeps in our bedroom on her little dog bed.

Re: Puppies
All dogs are definately different.....my dog was trained with the crate from day one and he is now a year old and goes in his crate on his own every night to sleep.
Make sure that crate is in a room so that the dog can see you. You can put the cage in your room at night so that the puppy doesnt feel alone....dont take them out of the crate though. Of course they will cry at first......i used to lay next to the crate and my dog would just fall asleep knowing i was next to him....then about 15 minutes later he was sleeping and i could go to bed. Give it a few weeks....they will realize its their little home....
Using the crate they tend to potty train a lot faster as well since they dont want to make a mess in their crate because thats their living space.
Just give it time......the puppy will be adjusted faster then you know it.
Good Luck!
