puppy

i posted this on the NWR board, but was just wondering what you guys thought since shea is a part of brides helping brides anyway!:

I am a teacher and have a 1 yr old yorkie...(as you can all see).
when we go back to school, september is crazy, and she gets depressed because we leave her and go to work

i contacted my breeder and was thinking about getting another pup around december so i could be home with it during christmas break and what not.

do dogs need a 'friend' or am i being nerotic?

Re: puppy

I too have a Yorkie, but she is with her brother Quinn (my dad's dog) all the time. They are very cute together, however they do get jealous if you are holding one of them. They completely entertain each other. They play all day long. They sleep with each other, and they cuddle. It's so cute! My breeder said the male female relationship is better for some reason. I say go for it. I love Yorkies!

Re: puppy

I have a pomeranian puppy and I am also a teacher. I wanted to get another puppy but I feel that I wont have enough time to give them both attention. My puppy now is so spoiled. If you can get another I would do it.

Re: puppy

My dog was a little to possesive, so we bought him a brother and he turned out a little more normal. I say go for it! It's no more trouble than having one!

Maxie and Momo couldn't be closer even if they were blood related.

Re: puppy

Look at my avatar picture. That is why I have 2 dogs. It is actually muc easier I think having two because they amuse each other and dont bother you as much. They get less spiteful also. When I just had my weimaraner, the gray dog, he would spite me when i would leave and pee all over the place. When I got the lab, that all stopped and it was much better. I would get a lot more dogs also but FH would kick me out of our house. Definitely get another one

We are also in the same boat. We are waiting until after the wedding to get a puppy playmate for our Bull Mastiff and I want to get two small breeds of my own!!

I have a 1 yr old yorkie. you have to be careful wt getting another dog. I have 2 dogs and they're always playing together and they play very rough (yep, th yorkie is a bruiser with her brother), so we have to separate them when we're not home. Even if you get another yorkie, you may have that proble, so just be on the lookout for it

I would definitely get another one. My FI and love dogs...we would have 5 of them if we could. We have a mini pin and a boston terrier. We have had the mini pin for 3 years and we just got the puppy boston 5 months ago. They entertain each other, run after each other, play fight and keep each other company when we are at work.
