Has anyone been to Happy Dog puppy kindergarten in Huntington? I'm thinking about signing Satchmo up; it is $247 for the 8-week program. Does that sound about right? The woman running the program was formerly the head trainer at North Shore Animal League. I have been trying to find other classes in the area for comparison -- anyone else send their puppy to puppy kindergarten?

Casey goes to Petsmart - it's called Basic Training and it is $99 for 8 weeks. Is there a Petsmart near you?

Thanks for the Petsmart tip -- unfortunately, there is no Petsmart near me.

This is the course description from the trainer:
Puppy Kindergarten – Teach good manners and prevent behavior problems before they start! This course includes lessons on nipping & biting, housetraining, destructive chewing, stealing, etc. Gets pups started on sit, down, come, wait, no jumping, and walking without pulling. Includes exercises to help prevent food aggression. Covers brushing, nail clipping, and “settle” so your pup calmly accepts handling by you, your kids, the vet & groomer. Also includes puppy playtime, tricks & games! Kids over 5 welcome to attend/take part. Open to pups 12-24 weeks at start of session.
