Puppy Play Dates?

Golem is not old enough for us to bring him to dog parks yet, but our vet recommended that we start socilazing him now with other dogs in safe, controlled environments. The trouble is, we only have one friend with a pup that we'd be able to let Golem play with.

So, we've been thinking that it would be nice to organize a play date at our home or the home of another healthy pup so Golem can learn to be around other animals, but without the threat of being exposed to anything. - would anyone in Nassau be interested in arranging a play date with their pups and Golem? He's really good with other dogs when he's exposed to them at the vet - and he's so happy when he meets new people! I hope this doesn't come off as desperate, we just want to ensure that our dog will be safely socialized while he's still young. I know Golem would love playing with other dogs too, we just cant risk a dog park right now, so other people's homes are the safest alternative at this point. If anyone is interested in setting up play dates, or if you have any info on how I could arrange this, please FM me, since we'd really liek to start introducing Golem to other animals now. THANKS so much!!!!

Re: Puppy Play Dates?

I'm not in Nassau but have car will travel. Angel and Sprinkles have played nicely w/my friend's French Bulldog and a Pug we found. They also get along well w/their half sister Gizmo and cousin Penny. They also play w/their brother cat Scutches. They tend to be a little overwhelming and dominant (at least Sprinkles does) so if you wanted to play w/only one of them, I would totally understand...

Re: Puppy Play Dates?

that would be so awesome! I would love to set up a puppy play date with you and Angel and Sprinkles! I don't think the dominant play is a problem at all - little Golem would do well to be around pups who can put him in his place, I think! :) Dogs speak a language that we have yet to understand, and our little guy is pretty rough and tough sometimes - your pups might be just what he needs! :) If you want to FM me, maybe we can set up a good day where our pups can play with each other? Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!
