my dog had this for a little bit. it turns out he was allergic to his food...but before we found that out, the vet recommended 1/4 tablet of pepto bismol (he was only 6 pounds at the time), and that seemed to do the trick!

My dog has had diarrhea now and then. From my experience, when it was really bad and he needed to see a vet he had it like multiple times a day in a short period of time and I knew something was up. But sometimes he just gets it and i put some regular white rice in with his food. This binds it and generally makes it back to normal (if this is not a serious problem). Also make sure your dog is getting plenty of water (especially now since its getting warmer). However, if the diarrhea persists I would go to a vet...or if you feel it would ease your mind...go.
You may have mentioned this but what kind of food is he eating? We had to switch my dogs food numerous times until we found one that was right for him.
it is in the early morning and night
he is always drinking
i usually give him beneful and he eats ceasars or that michael something for wet
he is not eating beneful right now but he has been on this food for a couple of months
do you put him in a cage at night and when you go to work? if you do, then maybe it's anxiety from not liking going in the cage or being left alone that's causing the diarrhea...
