Pure Genius...

So I work for this rather large cultural organization, and they're doing some major renovations to the site - have closed down the main theatre for refurbishment and built a new building to house staff, which we've just moved into about two weeks ago. There's a little room near where my department sits that's been designated the AV room - flat screen TV, fancy stereo system, DVD player, etc. Well, one of the higher-ups here was very upset when she realized that there were windows in the room because it would interfere with the rooms intended purpose, etc, etc and actually wanted to paint the whole thing black for better viewing conditions, etc.

So yesterday we're sitting in there and notice - there are no light switches anywhere in the room because - get this - the lights are motion detectors!! So much for the room's 'intended purpose'! Maybe if everyone sits really really still......

that is hilarious!

I love it.

In college, they put motion detectors in the library in an attempt to save energy, unfortunately when you are sitting there studying, you don't move much, so the lights would constantly go off in the study bays. It was funny seeing the other bays go off, and the students had to get up and like jump around, but not so funny when I was studying

My co-worker was here late the other night and someone was walking toward him from down the hall and he said the lights when on wherever she walked.

So I asked him - 'Was it like Billie Jean????'
